Yeah. Stanley was mean but the MSR was lazy. They did it like New Haven. They cut costs and never gave him a fair chance.

The story alludes that it was the backlog of water not being pumped out of the mines the water drowned the miners there spirits gave Stanley the Karma deserved when the mine closed permanently

You know, one thing I have to say about Stanley... he didn't really deserve the treatment he got. Sure, his attitude was bad. But the accidents? It's not his fault he wasn't gauged properly, that's on the MSR's director for not having him regauged.
