Butterflies are better. Lower cost, much high potential reward. They are safer as well. IF the market makes a strong move, you wont see a dramatic change in the pnl.

​@@anthonyeaton4591 I understand how they work as I mainly trade spx spy and vix. I was interested in you hedging the spx iron condor's vega with the calendar. If ever I do spx iron condors I hedge the vegas with vix, but spx and vix are only 70-80% inversly correlated, thats why I was interested in your spx iron condors and calendars. Your new double flys combined with the calendar is a more complicated trade, and that's why I asked about that combination .

@@Adam_789_ Its good. The calender is always the star of the show. It has a hughe risk to reward. The problem is its high vega... So thats where adding the butterly or iron condor comes in -- mainly to hedge vega. Condors are high prob, but terrible risk to reward.. let me know what you think.
