In the current economic conditions, a portfolio that favors a cash position is a plus. In and out protects your capital. Further, options are small position trades that can reap much higher returns. As well, the best traders right now are those that work from a combination of technicals and fundamentals.

There's a lot of ways to hedge. You can trade different stocks like QQQ long + DIA short, you can go bullish one expiration, bearish another if there's data releases those days. You can also hedge with bullish positions with VIX trades if you think volatility will rise. Many ways to hedge.

Great content but I think you mean 'Option Trading' Vs 'Equity Trading'...Ricky is a day trader that trades equity, however, there are many option day traders, like myself..I day trade weekly option contracts with a 15K cash account and my average return is between $300 to $600 daily , using roughly 20% of my account..I ensure to make weekly withdrwals, always bringing my account back to 15K at the end of the trading week...Option trading is way less cash intensive than trading equity, however, the downside, as you know is the volatility, theta and the possibility of the contracts expiring worthless, especially if you decide to do a swing..

love the channel, love the content. congrats on the $4K return last month! my only issue with this video is the distinction between day trading and options trading. i am a day trader and exclusively trade options. all of the day traders i follow (Matt Diamond, Vincent Desiano, Carmine Rosato, etc...) all day trade options. so this distinction between day trading and options trading doesn't really work for me and many other traders. a distinction between trading stocks and ETFs, versus options makes perfect sense. and i agree with most of what is said here in that regard. but the distinction between day trading and options trading assumes day traders are not also options traders, and many of us are. PS: day trading options you are not subject to the PDT rule. As long as you are in a cash account you can day trade options every day (which is one of the reasons i started trading options in the first place).

Yes you can day trade options with cash, however, you cannot trade spreads or other type of options with a cash account. I do agree with your statement though on the distinct difference between day trading and options trading.

@@emmadara913 Use something like Thinkorswim so you can trade while the market is closed and get some practice. Thinkorswim has something called “ThinkBack” that lets you backtest strategies while the market is closed.

Usually selling options is covered by either stock or cash, but if you're selling naked options then yes unlimited loss is on the table.

also as you probably know trading options does NOT always require news and fundamentals. You have a different style of trading which is respectable but saying options trading is pure fundamental based would be misleading also when you say day trading I'd personally like a better explanation of What you are talking about are you talking about day trading stocks or futures and options may need more clarification like on what equities or futures etc. For newer traders your content may be fine for investing but putting options as something only fundamental based is wrong.

you don't need 1mil to make that kind of money with day trading. you can trade futures and start with only 500. if you're good like (KZbinr: Trades by matt) then you can turn 2k into 20k. its a video with (KZbinr: Daniel Inskeep) I watched a challenge video with them and got me into day trading. myself. It's honestly easier to get into if you're dedicated enough to learn how to read charts.
