I know it's all jokes about the 1000's of indicators when starting off, but this was actually me this past April. Lately been only charting channel highs and lows using supply and demand zones and have found it MUCH better and useful so far! Thanks OM.

Level to level trading is the only way. You can add some other levels, pivot points -- camarilla or traditional-- and anchored VWAP along with the H/L pivots mentioned here. You can create "confluence zones" where these levels cluster and that will declutter your chart from having too many levels. If you have some gamma exposure data to add to the mix, that's as good as it's going to get, the rest is risk and emotion management.

Jimmy made millions trading pivot points. He started with 20k. lost about 15k in 2 weeks. He then started paper trading and realized he could trade pivot points. He made his first million trading shares on pivot points. He then moved to trading options and is now a multi millionaire.

Good video; thank you for posting. Certain levels are very important, and the 167 on TSLA was a nice bounce that could have been seen with a properly marked-up chart. TSLA bounced violently at that level.

Very helpful video Andrew. A quick question for you- when you mention retest, does it have to absolutely touch the premarket high or low or just close by would suffice? At 9:30 for example, you mention it tested the premarket low but the candle didn't quite touch it. Also between trading a breakout directly vs a break and retest, I understand the break and retest is the safest set up but I have noticed a number of times in SPY the breakout happening and never getting a retest. Are there ways to identify a false breakout vs a genuine one?

for extended hours do you consider the entire extended hours session from after-market to pre-market? sometimes there are wild gaps that make the entire extended session cover a very wide range - in this case would it be better to stick to just premarket high and lows? thanks!

Having too many indicators is an indicator of a trader that isn't profitable. Knowing multiple daytraders that have a win ratio of 85% year round, the only indicators that you need are the one that the major players are using. SMA 50-100-200 EMA8 on D1, EMA3 EMA8 VWAP on m5. Don't daytrade under m5. Draw resistance/support on daily, as well as m5. Identify algo lines on daily. Good trading fellows

how would you know when to enter the trade once it hits a key level? break out then retest of that level then enter trade? or wait for confirmation of direction after the retest? sorry if that doesn’t make any sense…
@snuffleupagus39562 жыл бұрын
There are two entries at levels. First, wait for a candle close beyond the level then enter when price moves beyond that candle. Second, wait for the retest and enter. Re-test has the higher percentage odds.

Definitely the hardest thing to learn is trusting your levels and taking advantage of the full play.
@jamesbonofffradestin7612 жыл бұрын
You don't have to trust your levels. Just use your edge near your support or resistance. If your edge is a triangle pattern, candlestick patterns or a pullback, use it near your levels or your reference points.

@@jamesbonofffradestin761 Retail patterns aren't an edge. It's what 90% of traders are watching.

@Repsol tell me what to do? Do you have a better approach?
@Repsolthefirst2 жыл бұрын
@@jamesbonofffradestin761 You can use retail patterns as they do work and you can find an edge within that, but you have to think about your competition in the market. What is every novice to somewhat decent retail trader doing? They're watching patterns, they're charting standard support and resistance or they're using some combination of EMAs. None of these are an actual edge by themselves imo. I personally day trade levels from periodic volume profiles on all timeframes. I feel this gives me a defined edge because not many people are looking at these levels, but they're coming from high and low volume nodes and volume points of control, both macro and micro. No guesswork in them like standard S/R -- where people have trouble trusting levels because they might have them wrong. I hate retail patterns and indicators. They didn't work for me and I found that MMs kill retail accounts because they know everyone is trading off them.
