The offsets worked perfectly. I had never thought offsets as a setting to adjust why the ball was off. Thanks.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. Your videos have been awesome! My optishot is scheduled for delivery in 2 days. I feel very prepared to set everything up in the settings thanks to you! I'm pretty excited, but more importantly, my son is super excited! I'm curious to see how fast he progresses and how soon I have to upgrade to a better system.

Grant that is awesome! Thanks for watching my video and spread the word. Keep me posted on how it goes. The Optishot is a great starter simulator. You will have a lot of fun! If you have any questions let me know. Posting a review of a great indoor putting mat soon so keep watching my channel.

@Golfallyear I have a feeling some of my friends will be setting up their own once they see how easy and cheap my setup is. Definitely recommending your vids to all that do. I'm just under $500 CAD, no projector or screen yet. Upgrade as I go.

A few things I have noticed that I haven't heard mentioned for accuracy I found was how you line up to the swing pad. I found if I stood a little closer to the pad my slice went away. Also standing about a inch or two forward of your stance also helped. Only thing I found to help my driver was changing the offset to 0.5000

Yeah the driver can be difficult to hit on the Optishot at times. Thanks for the comments.

@@Golfallyear Hi Dean Thanks for your reply. I had an hour on Optishot this afternoon having made some of the setup suggestions you made. So far pretty impressed. I am having problems with the square face settings. It doesn’t seem to recognise the 5 swings needed. I will keep trying. Lighting might be an issue so I will experiment with that tomorrow.
@Golfallyear4 жыл бұрын
@@paulo1677 I have found that when I calibrate I take very short swings. All it is looking for is the angle of the face. Also I think lighting can be an issue. If calibration does not work...try changing the offset of each club and see if that helps. Let me know how it goes.

What is the brand of your ball dispenser? Where can I get one? I lie the design. Thanks.
@Golfallyear4 жыл бұрын
I truly love my dispenser...the problem is I can't find it anywhere. It is called EZ Tee Personal Caddy Golf Ball Dispenser and Shag Tube. I got it off Amazon years ago. The next closest thing I can find for the price is this one: amzn.to/3jSmO1r Let me know if you can find it, I have had no luck.

So I just got the optishot 2 and the distant wasn't accurate at all even after calibrating each club so I started by putting in my specific club specs for club length, loft, offset, etc and now everything is way off and every shot goes straight left. Is it not designed to take specific club specs? So for unfortunately I'm not impressed with the system.
@Golfallyear Жыл бұрын
Optishot just tracks the club and then calculates the distance from that. Make sure you calibrate your clubs. You can also increase the power of each club in setting. If you are looking for a more accurate simulator check out my Garmin R10 videos. Hope that helps.
@ng21sm122 жыл бұрын
What do you mean by 'turf' in your first recommendation?
@Golfallyear2 жыл бұрын
The turf that comes with the Optishot is very thin and does not feel like real golf affecting the accuracy. You can purchase thicker turf for Optishot which give a better feel and protects the sensors more. Highly recommend.

Hi Dean. Great videos. I am about to buy a golf simulator. I am torn on which simulator to buy out of the optishot 2, tittle x and rmotion. If you had only one to buy which one would it be and why? Cheers Ryan
@Golfallyear4 жыл бұрын
So I have done a few videos on comparing each of the simulators on my channel: kzbin.info Check that out before you buy for more in depth stuff but in general I would choose the Optishot for sure. The Optishot is so easy to use, flexible and I think it is the most accurate for most stats. I have been able to lower my handicap significantly using it. R-Motion clip system is just too much a pain for me and the Tittle X is more of a game since you are not suppose to use real balls. Here is my latest comparison of the 3 simulators: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nIOUgHyja5p9mNU Hope that helps...Let me know what you decide.

@@Golfallyear Thanks so much for the detailed reply. Optishot has always been first choice. Only because of the better graphics on the 2 other simulators is why i been holding back. You just made my decision for optishot.Thanks again.

Hey Dean do you know of anyone who has created a optishot league? There used to be one where you played 2 rounds per week and than turned in your scores .Love your videos as I learn something new every time, didn't know you could turn off the wind , thx !

Can you play oprishot outside if you only have an 8 ft roof? What size do you need to play optishot?
@Golfallyear4 жыл бұрын
No...as far as I know you can't play outside as the lighting messes with the sensors. I suggest at least 9 foot ceilings. If you want to play outside you could try R-Motion or Tittle X golf simulators. R-Motion: amzn.to/3hTrCmA Tittle X: amzn.to/3iNE7kD Hope that helps. Thanks for the question.
@kingb84543 жыл бұрын
Sorry Dean, but I have a few issues with information you gave out in this video. First of all, you said to use a "regular" bulb. That's exactly opposite with what Optishot actually states. Secondly, Optishot unlike you, states that offsets are ONLY used if there is NO calibration information. Why you say to give that a shot, I don't understand.
@Golfallyear3 жыл бұрын
Sorry you feel that way...yes Optishot does recommend LED or Fluorenscent bulb (I consider those bulbs normal for most people now days) but I was more focused on making sure the lighting is directly over the sensors. Many people have lighting on the ceiling which is not ideal. The offset will help if the calibration does not work and you are getting improper slices or hooks. Calibration is better but using the offset can help also. Hope that helps you understand better what I was suggesting.
