Nerve cells, which can be switched on and off with light - this is possible through optogenetics. Ernst Bamberg at the Max Planck Institute of Biophysics in Frankfurt is working on improving this technology further to ensure that neuroscientists can learn more about our brain.

this is just amazing...im like soo much more in love with my course biotechnology now...maybe one day i will do my phd in optogenetics..this video was too amazing and so motivating its beautiful im surprised there are such few views on this video

Now I know the future, it will not be a metal-socket on the neck to connect with the Matrix. The connection will just work with laser light and electromagnetic-sensors on our neck or brain :D
