Australia’s telcos will be forced to share real-time outage information and set up a body to take charge of Australia’s triple-zero system.
The overhaul is in response to the review into last year’s Optus outage.
Optus has received heavy criticism from the review into its outage last November, which left Australians and businesses in the dark.
Many people were unable to access triple-zero services, which put lives at risk and prompted the need for urgent change and review.
The review found that Optus failed on multiple levels.
