The only problem with Globe productions.. is they tend to make all the others look pretty amateur. Simply love what they do!

It's almost perfect- I wish he would have paused a beat after the most famous line insread of rushing into the the following one. I do love how he refenced the Globe- he broke the 4th wall beautifully

@@rationalsceptic7634 You can hear from the audience's reactions that they don't understand the Shakespearean text and are reacting most of all to the gratuitous bits of vaudeville and splastick. Sad.

Bosie Wilder Then why did it win Awards and universal acclaim??
@VonBlade
@VonBlade 3 жыл бұрын
It's almost like people aren't allowed to bring their own take upon the text. I can't imagine anyone is at the Globe to watch Shakespeare who doesn't understand the text or want to be there, although if indeed such people are then good. You don't have to have a degree in a play to enjoy it, nor music, nor any artistic endeavour.
@emma4735
@emma4735 3 жыл бұрын
@@bosiewilder4945 the “gratuitous splastick and vaudeville” as you call it, (lovely spelling, by the way) was written in by Shakespeare. His stuff wasn’t intellectual brilliance at the time, it was for both the queen and the town drunk. You can certainly have your own opinion about the play, but the audience isn’t dumb for laughing at comedy
