@Apixi11 ай бұрын
@@leahf16 Agreed. I was raised by my father. No extras with the hair. But he permed mine. It was always frizzy and breaking 🥹 3b! Who knew!? As a teen my mom took me for the big chop and kept up with the press and curl. My hair was down my back. I didn't care. I got tired of the negative attention. Is it a perm? Wig? Weave? No. With the big chop it was all new growth. I chopped it again when my twins were very young. And got whatever reason any new stylist I found was trimming the new growth. Every time it got past my shoulders, I was told I needed a trim. Everyone kept telling me that my length was being chopped off. But I couldn't see it. Nor did I care, at the time. But after I had a dark night of the soul, I drove to Arizona. Took a life coaching/reiki 9 week class. Jumped on the treadmill every time something pissed me off. Came back feeling alive and ok for the first time in my entire life. And my daughter told me that yet another stylist just chopped my ends off. 😡Wtf is wrong with people??? I haven't stepped foot in a salon since! I will not get a press for anything other than a trim. And not until I find someone I can absolutely trust to not be jealous of my hair. I worked hard to get my hair healthy and thriving. I will not willingly let someone do that again. And pay?!?! Nope! After all that, my hair is down my back again. I remember the shock when I decided that I would give myself a wash and go spa day. Really take my time and use my favorite clarifying shampoo. Over the years it's gone from impossible to comb, to damn near untangling itself. Thick and beautiful. Not because it's long or curly or not dry as hell. Because it's healthy and happy. I have mermaid hair the 🛁 lol The only reason I will use a lot of product is because I'm very active and I sweat a lot! And my 3b, low porosity hair is prone to dryness. And I oil my scalp when needed rather than daily.
