It's interesting to see Robert Palmer in the midst of his creative process. Fun, too, to see how they all worked together. It was an obviously happy collaboration that serendipity brought together to produce a great album. By the way, no one could play the drums (or wear a beret) quite like Tony Thompson. All these guys were very talented and each of them brought something unique to the sound. Thanks so much for making this available, I appreciate it!

Were you a teen of the 80's? getting off the subject of Tony Thompsons playing. When Duran Duran was just getting some attention in the early 80's before Rio. The press didn't know what to do with them, so on their first cover shoot they photographed Roger Taylor and Nick Rhodes, just the two of them. They couldn't keep the magazine on the shelves, they mused "and that was just our drummer and keyboard player!". John Taylor was the man to be back then. He had English sophistication, sickeningly great looks and was a great player to boot. Me, at 50 still have respect because at the core they were a pretty good rock band.

I was just about to order the 2 Disc Set with the CD album & Video Footage but im not keen on CD but unfortunately i couldnt see an option to buy on Vinyl Plus the documentary on a DVD As i was about to add it to my basket on Amazon i thought i'd read the description & im surprised at what it foolishly & disrespectfully says!.. In fact i think its a load of horse sh*t!... Within the description which i'll add it saying some BS about Duran Fans or Durannies the latter ive never heard Duran Duran Fans called this but may it was in a specific country but eitger way i never heard or bothered about such labelling but to say that those of a superstitious type think said Durannies put a curse on the 3 members that passed away , being Robert Palmer/Bernard Edwards & Tony Thompson & kind of sickened that this was aloud to be printed within the describtion but ill let you read it & decide & even if it was ridiculously true it still shouldnt be written within the description & though its 2nd hand id say the Seller added this to try & bait fans into buying it & you what im not buying this & will try to get it elsewhere as thats a disgraceful thing to print about 3 brilliantly talented men sadly passed away but none of the BS within this description is warranted & maybe its just how I feel but that is just so wrong to put that so BS within the description... Below is the description of said double disc version of The Power Station Album & video footage recorded during their making of their first The Power Station album... Few side projects have ever proven so disastrous. When Duran Duran bassist John Taylor and guitarist Andy Taylor formed the Power Station in 1985, it not only toppled their other band's domination over the pop world but cast a dark cocaine and slap-bass cloud over the entire decade that didn't shake off until Miami Vice was cancelled and Nirvana arrived. But that wasn't all. Superstitious types believe that resentful Durannies set a curse on singer Robert Palmer, Chic drummer Tony Thompson and producer Bernard Edwards that eventually sent them all to early graves. Two decades on, all that is swept aside and what remains is the music: Self-indulgent and superficial, yes - and, with just eight songs, in such small portions. But, in retrospect, the Power Station is also unexpectedly forceful and funky, particularly with "Some Like It Hot" and a cover of T. Rex's "Bang A Gong." --Aidin Vaziri Well , if you want to leave your thoughts on what was supposedly done & whether true or not it is just disrespectful to those 3 men who passed away & a young age.. In light of this still ongoing coronavirus and its variants stay safe and healthy wherever you are in this world... .....
