When the two top stars of Tamil films in the 80s decided to voice out to support the downtrodden in their movies, Ilaiyaraaja chose to give them songs in the same Raga. Sudhdha Dhanyasi was the raga of choice for both Punjai Undu Kanji Indu song from Annual Mudiyum Thambi (1988) and Koovungal Sevalgale from Thanikkaattu Raja (1982). Both the songs spoke of liberation and claiming one's rights but in different manners. While the Rajini song was aggressive, the Kamal song was pacifist. What variations did Isaignani bring in his tune and how did the songs fare? This video is a detailed analysis of this.

IMHO, SIMILAR (not same) lyrics, DIFFERENT TUNES, and IR crafts the songs for 2 different heroes / styles. 11:40 - IR TEACHES how to sing a song including sangadhis, where to stress etc., which would be incorporated by SPB. IR conceives the song its entirety even before the lyricist arrives. In IR music, singers are called, later they arrive, learn the song and sing - entire recording happens in 2-4 hours.

Only one man cannot make a movie hit..UMT as a whole a good movie than TKR.. Santhana katre and Agaya Gangai from Dharma yudham are similar, melodious songs for me beautifully tuned by IR..Agaya Gangai is more popular for many reason ...

Your logic for why the 2 songs have different views on KZbin is flawed. Thanikkattu Raja had six solid super hit songs and this song got drowned in the popularity of other hits like Santhana Katre and Rasave etc. Whereas UMT had classical songs and only 2 hit songs including this song and Ithazhil Kathal.

Everyone has their own logic. I shared mine. You are free to disagree. But saying UMT only had 2 hit songs is also seriously flawed. Enna samayalo and Unnal Mudium thambi thambi were super duper hits as well. Similarly only Santhana Katie and Raasave can be considered super hits. Naandhaan taappu or naadhaanda ippo devadas were blink and miss songs.

சகோ "கூவுங்கள் சேவல்களே" அன்றய நிலையில் மிகவும் சென்றடைந்த பாடல் view போகலனா அன்றய நிலையில் சமூக ஊடக வலையொளி இல்லையே அப்படி இருக்க ஏன் இந்த காரணத்தை பொதுவாக எடுத்து ஒப்பிட்டுள்ளீர்கள் அது சரியாக படவில்லை புரட்சி என்பது மேலானவர்களை தயவு பண்ணி வருவதில்லை அப்படி தான் வரவேண்டும் என்று கூறவேண்டும் என்ற திட்டத்துடன் அதை அணுகுகிற போது அதை கட்டாயம் சென்றடைய செய்ய வெற்றி பெற செய்ய பல நுணுக்கமான வேலைகளை செய்வதுண்டு அப்படித்தான் இங்கு நடந்தது வாய் புரட்சி பேசனும் செயல் அதை முறியடிக்கனும் என்ற தத்துவத்தோடு உண்மை புரட்சியாளனுக்கு பேச்சு செயல் எல்லாம் ஒரே நோக்கில் ஆனால் தயவை எதிர்ப்பார்க்கும் வல்லான்மைக்கு ஆதரவு உள்நுட்பத்துடன் இரட்டை நோக்கம் எப்போதும் உண்டு இதை தான் மார்க்சு பூசுவாகுணம் என்பார் சரி அது சித்தாந்தம் இருக்கட்டும் ஒரு புறம் எனக்கும் பல நாட்களாக ஏன் இன்றுவரை கூட நஞ்சை உண்டு பாடலில் அத்தனை புரட்சி கருத்துகள் இமய மலையாக கொட்டி கிடந்தாலும் அதில் ஒரு frame கூட வரிகளுக்கு ஏற்றபடி இல்லை என்ற சினம் இருந்தது இன்னும் இருக்கிறது ஆனால் கதை தலைவனை நகைச்சுவை நடிகராக உலாவ விட்டிருப்பார் சினிமா இலக்கணப்படியாக நோக்கினால் கூட இது தவறு இதை நன்கு அறிந்திருந்தும் வேண்டுமெனவே அதை முற்றிலும் இயக்குனர் மிகத்தெளிவாக தவிர்த்திருப்பார் இதுவரை நான் பார்த்த சினிமாவில் இது போன்ற தந்திர படப்பிடிப்பை பார்த்ததில்லை நான் எதிர்பார்த்ததை போலவே இந்த பாடலுக்கு ஒரு நல்ல விளக்கத்தை கொடுத்தீங்க அதற்காகவே சகோ நன்றிகள் பலபல உரித்தாக்கட்டும் எனவே வெற்றி என்பதை விட அப்படியும் எப்படியும் எந்த நிலையிலும் இசையாளுமை செய்ய முடியும் என்பதை தன் நுட்பத்திறமையோடு செய்தவர் இசைஞானி அதான் அவர்❤❤❤இசைஇறைவன்❤❤❤
