Oral-B iO Series 6 vs 7

No-brainer for me! I just bought the iO 6 and I'm super happy about it! I highly recommend! I actually had my sights set on the iO 7. But when I realized that the iO 6 toothbrush is the same, only quieter and cheaper (plus newer), it was quickly clear to me. I don't think the big price difference is worth it just because of the faster charging. All the other higher models, which are enormously more expensive, all have unnecessary extras for me (color display, etc.).

You mentioned in another video the series 6 charger is voltage locked by the region you purchase it in. Where as the series 7 has a range of 110-220v so you wouldn't need a separate charger if you were traveling internationally to an area that used different voltages. Is this correct? If so this convenience alone would make the series 7 a much more attractive charger for a traveler.

Yes that is correct. It does potentially make the 7 a 'better' option for a traveler, subject to how often and how they travel for.

The oralB website had a sale going on for the ioseries 6 and when I went to buy it they would refund my money all 3 times I tried and now the sale has stopped so I can’t buy it

Only you can really decide this, but I would pick the iO6 still.

@Electric Teeth I wanted to go for the io 7 series but in a another video you said that the io 6 series is quieter which is making me now go more towards the io 6. What do you think about this?

In our testing it was, but only by a few decibels, nothing significant. 64 vs 72.

Charing speed is pretty important if this is the only way to brush your teeth.

In that case the iO7 - You are only getting the faster charging really but for €5 its worth it

@@ElectricTeeth i heard from some people say that the magnetic charging doesnt really work, like it doesnt connect well after some time. If u look at all the ios then u said the 6 and 9 were the best options from all. And the 7 is the first with the magnetic stand, i want it to use long term and not that it doesnt work after some time. Do u still recommend the 7? Because it’s like the 8 and 9 but the first to try new futures after the 6. I dont know if u understand what i am trying to say, but i want a long term good functional electric toothbrush and don’t want to buy a wrong option. I still think all the ios toothbrushes are good, only some futures and price differences. But is the quality and all the same, like wat is the best option if u look at the price an quality/futures?

I've not had any issues with the magnetic charging stands. I've not had anyone say to me theirs failed. Maybe they do, but it's not something I've personally experienced. I used the iO9 for 3 years without issue. If you are concerned then go for the 6 over the 7, the 2 brushes are very much alike. I can't say any 1 brush in the iO range is better quality. The iO6 is the best value, getting lots of features, but not costing too much. The iO9 is much more expensive and I only really suggest going for this if you want all the extra tech and a prepared to pay for it.

@@ElectricTeeth so for the 6 and the 7 u recommend the 6 more with the price and quality? When now the 7 isnt much more expensive but i am mostly looking at the quality. Bc i was choosing between these 2. And over all the series u say the 6 and 9 are the best option?

@@elise6071they are pretty much the same quality, however the 6 appears to be made with tougher tolerances making it quieter by a little if using the same motor. Apparently, your can get a twin pack of io 6 for about $170 at Costco right now. But you can get the io 7 twin pack for $150 at sam's club with many different color during their sale. However, when will it come back? No idea, but I'll speculate around Christmas time like the last time.

Slightly. The iO7's is a bit thicker and more durable feeling.

Very comparable. I would pick the 6 in this instance. Overall the iO Series 6 is the best value for the features it offers in the iO range of brushes.

Yes as far as I am aware.

Yes. I spoke to one of their sales reps last weekend. Al iO models have the same motor. The difference is a couple of small things, like the brush modes, black and white vs color display and such.

In specification I see that noise level of 7 is higher. Is it true and why?

In our testing, we found it to be higher. It launched before the Series 6. It is possible the newer versions of the 7 are now quieter but we haven't bought another to test this specifically.
