As part of our testing process, it is necessary to simulate battery use for consistency. We do this by charging the brush fully and running the toothbrush through brushing cycles until it discharges completely. The iO continues to offer a battery life of 6+ weeks in these tests. However, repeated in hand testing has shown the battery life to only be 2 weeks. This is a discrepancy we have never previously experienced. @@ElectricTeeth I live in the US. I was thinking about Oral B genius X. I like the feature where it shows how you’re cleaning your teeth but I’m not sure. Any advice? This will be my first electric toothbrush

I would suggest the Oral-B Smart 1500. It's a solid, good value model. It doesn't have Bluetooth and features to show you how to brush your teeth via an app, but you don't need such. It can be helpful, but not essential. Oral B now has a new how to video, "How to Brush with an Oral iO". The iO also has a brushing technique, that actually makes the position detection work better. That's what I found out after a tested the technique while using position detection with my Genius X. So I have the oral b 3000, I find it extremely noisy and unpleasant to use with the handle vibrating too much. It's like holding a drill and drilling my mouth. Are the newer oral b brushes an upgrade in this department or are they exactly the same? I know you mentioned here the iO has a new motor and there is a difference, but what about 6000-8000? If you could please shed some light on this it'd be great help, thanks!

Great question. The Genius 8000 featured in this video is comparable to the Oral-B 3000 in noise and vibration. The newer iO is quieter and vibrates a little less through the handle. But the difference is not significant. A Sonicare toothbrush is still about 10 decibels quieter than the iO. I hope that helps.

Electric Teeth, a perfect update for the Oral B app would be for the app to show the user how to hold the tooth brush. Like some users have trouble with holding the brush in a proper way so the AI Technology of the Oral B IO or Genius X.

There's no evidence to say one or the other does a better job. They are comparable. The iO feels softer & less intense than the Genius Pro.

No. Technically they can remove external stains on the tooth surface, therefore making them appear whiter. They don't/can't change your natural tooth colour. How white they make your teeth is impacted by your current lifestyle/situation. If you already have white teeth and a good oral care routine you won't see a difference. But if you are a heavy coffee drinker/smoker/red wine drinker etc with poor oral care and then you use this and improve your routine, you will likely see a difference.

The iO is very good. But it is not an absolute must have. If you can get the Genius X locally in Moscow I would stick with that. It is a very good toothbrush still.

There is barely any difference. I have seen no data to suggest 1 is better than the other. Just slightly different. How you move the toothbrush around the mouth, your brushing time and routine are all going to have a bigger impact.

Technically yes. But, in reality the differences would be minimal and likely clinically insignificant. Basically, it would take some serious tracking of you oral health to see and notice any meaningful difference. If the Pro 1000 works, stick with it for now. Work on perfecting your brushing time, frequency and technique if you haven't already.

Both are good. Depends if you want the extra features. Most don't need them. I would go more for the 3000.

The charger provided in the box only supports 110-130v when purchased in USA & Canada etc. You can get replacement charging stands that support 220-240v, but not one that supports all. The charger for the travel case does support 110-240v. So, you can use the case to charge the toothbrush if you like.
