I tried the Quip subscription when it first came out. The vibration was so minimal it wasn’t much “better” than a manual. Now I enjoy using my Sonicare.

Helo i have cavity on my lower molar it is in early stage i dont know what to do to reverse without filling can you help
@askahygienist5 ай бұрын
If you’ve been told for sure that it is still in its early stages, make sure to brush and floss properly, try hydroxyapatite toothpaste (currently I’m using Dr. Jen’s), as well as xylitol mints a few throughout the day; I like Ice Chips. Also after any meal/snack or drink, I would try to at least swish with water to neutralize pH more quickly. You can find links to the products I mentioned in the description of my video (always check the latest video for most up to date list)

Does this review include using the newest quip 360?

The video reviews the brushes used in the video lol. No, it does not include the quip 360. The quip 360 has a round brush head.

Another great and informative video! I have a question about my teeth. My dentist said I have yellowing along my gumline on some of my teeth, and she said to use a fluoride booster three times a week. Can I just use the hydroxyapatite toothpaste instead? She said the yellowing was due to my enamel wearing down.

Hmm so our teeth do naturally get yellower toward our gumline either way because the enamel gets thinner there and you can see through to the dentin (second layer of the tooth) which is more yellow. In some cases the yellow is more prominent if there is recession or abrasion; basically yes if the enamel is more worn down it appears more yellow. That being said I don’t see how fluoride booster is going to help with the yellowing. Fluoride does “strengthen enamel” but if there’s no enamel to strengthen… I think your dentist may be more concerned about cavity prevention because our teeth are more susceptible to cavities where there is worn down enamel/exposed dentin. But bottom line i wouldn’t expect fluoride to help with the color. Hydroxyapatite is praised for its ability to rebuild enamel on a microscopic level; may be worth trying that; make sure to get a good quality HA toothpaste.. i currently use Dr. Jen’s, 10% nanohap. Should be a link in the description!

@@askahygienist Thank you so much for that confirmation! I did buy Dr. Jen's 10% nano-hydroxyapatite toothpaste and have been using it for a month now. I love how it makes my teeth feel crisp and clean. I believe it is also helping with sensitivity as I don't have any sensitivity currently. So glad I no longer have to use fluoride and can use a better alternative.

The OralB is smaller and much easier to use on every tooth. It´s simple.

Hey, random question is their anything you would recommend if your mouth is a bit "overly salivary". Went to a hygienist recently and still have the issue (currently suffer with type 2 diabetes) . Been going on for a few months. Thank u
@askahygienist5 ай бұрын
Hi! Great question. There could be a variety of reasons for hypersalivation. Reaction to medication, hormone imbalance, vitamin deficiencies, to name a few. Probably something to discuss with your physician. Definitely annoying to be drowning in your own spit! 😅 hope this helps.. Would love to hear back if/when you’ve figured out the cause.
