Alex MacDonald is a NYC-based professional tap dancer, teaching artist, and choreographer. He is a 2012 recipient of the Fulbright Student Scholarship to Ireland, where he received his M.A. in Ethnochoreology from the University of Limerick.

Great presentation, so many African American traditions are being lost as the history underneath is not always understood or transferred to following generations. I always thought it was just a dance, but you unpacked some cultural pieces stemming from segregation and Jim Crow era policies.
