Don’t it break your heart he can’t be with his mom. I don’t know the circumstances of why they are taking care of the baby. The mom could have rejected it. But that’s the job I would love to have. Dream job. 😀🧡

yeah dumbass the zoos, the very places that are ensuring the survival of this species by breeding and then hand-rearing any babies that were rejected or not cared for by their mother, are just randomly killing the mothers they're putting so much labor and resources and effort into saving, just so they can have a man hold the baby in front of a crowd at the zoo so someone can post a youtube clip of it. Seriously, this conspiratorial thinking is out of control. Poachers are out there killing mothers and stealing babies to sell on the black market as illegal pets - that is a real problem - but that doesn't mean that EVERY TIME you see a baby orangutan in a human's arms on youtube, that THEY are a poacher. These videos are almost always zoos or conservation organizations - the very ones saving the babies from the poachers and murderers of the babies mothers.

Why are so many zoos stating mother rejection to take the baby. Stop leave the baby with it's mother. Even ham mother's sometimes take the bonding no one takes their babies. Stop this practice.

@GiGi Johnson: If the mother is not willing to breast feed the baby within a few hours, it will go downhill fast. Those regular feeds are required every 2 hours for the baby to grow and thrive. Since orangutans are endangered it is important to save every baby.
