Basically the purple is not crap anymore. Bought purple kilmers and I totally love them. I've ridden/owned 4prez, stims, and moronga/baluts in all 3 duros. Forget everything you know about them because this is truly a newer and better thane. I've also tried yellow 86a keanu's.

You can assume that the 83a is just going to last even longer than the 80a and be more slippery and slidey. Yummm

Similar, but it is a different core. Orangatang is made by a different manufacturer than Abec 11.

I've been looking for a fairly small freestyle wheel for kick tricks n' quick spins that i can throw around without losing much speed. Which of the three duros kills speed the least while maintaining a reasonable amount of resistance to control slides while im in narrow but hilly urban areas? I was thinking the 83a because I'm leery of yellow orangatangs of the past.

Yes your best choices would be the 83 or 86a Keanu probably. Or you could look to other brands. Hard duro wheels that are overly icey at first, can be mastered with just a little patience. You'll learn to love the slide of hard wheels too I'm sure

i have the 86a keanu and they are not like the other 86a that you read about. the core and the new thane make them amazing. they aren't icey and are very predictable. good roll speed, NO chatter. the perfect ratio of grip and slip especially if you are wanting to get twirly. and as far as losing speed, they will definitely lose less speed than the softer duros and last a lot longer too.

They're pretty similar, but Snakes are a little more slippery. If you want a bit more grip, go with Keanu or Kilmer

I don't doubt you dude, but not only have I spent an extensive amount of time on these wheels, but I have been riding with tons of people who also are currently riding all diferent duros of this wheel, and none have been chattery or screechy. It sounds to me like it's probably the pavement surfaces you ride on..? Unfortunate either way my man - and yeah it should only improve.. unless a flatspot develops. Shred on!
