Good video. If you had to resort to dissing on the built in tuner for a reason to not like it then its pretty faultless in my eyes haha

the more crap they put in the more can and does go wrong how ever that being said built in tuners usually dont work very well they are either way to touchy or really sluggy no different really then some of the headstock tuners out there but there are really great headstock tuners and pedal tuners as well. over all that the amp is what it is and this video was just about some stuff i dont like about it so its a not a review i do have a review of this amp as well.

@@KevinMillard68 yeahh i totally agree with you. I like it as simple as possible as well. Thats why i stay away from all those modelling amps full of presets and channels with all sorts of built in effects and options on it. Boss and Line 6 are prime examples of that

I can understand what you mean by the tuner. Most of the time I've been playing I've been able to tune by ear but I absolutely depend on the tuner when it comes to my Les Paul. It can sound like it's in until you play a box chord and hear a string out. The tuner saves me a lot of time.

Nice review thanks. I have one of these amps and like it a lot. However I was surprised to find that when I turned over to the dirty channel there was no sound at all until the gain was turned to 4. I checked wth the company that sold it to me and this the way they work. On my peavey when I turned to the dirty channel with gain on zero it sounded these same as the clean channel. So you could get nice sounds with very low gain. I wonder if it would work differently with an active pickup on the guitar. Secondly the auxiliary input. I use it a lot. So it is like having another channel. I plug in my Roland groove box and the sound coming from the Roland is unaffected by the amps controls, including volume. You could use a drum machine or an iPad with a backing track from GarageBand etc. Even a small mixer. Excellent for home practice.

With or without a built-in tuner there would be zero difference in playability or sound. The massive power consumption you think the built-in tuner would take is actually a pretty small, almost non exsistent amount of juice and would affect nothing!!

its sounded like a SS amp because it is , i have to agree tho the dirty channel could use some work how ever the clean is nice and you can use your own pedal board most ampos that have a dirty channel that side usually sucks in all of them includeing tube amps and ihave owned a few tube amps and i have played on many of them, the new amp i recentally got i think works best for me i got the new katana 50 watt EX series and so far its doing great . i would also add your speaker is 80% or more of your sound so changing just a speaker in an amp can be 100% improvment or even worse if you pick wrong

use the EQ to remove mids and highs also what pups are you using these amps work best with humbuckers, and yes you can change the speaker to what ever you want as long as the ohms is the same as what you take out of it that is very imported that it matchs as well as your speaker has to be the same as or greater then the watts of the amp..

Thanks for this video, i have one question: do you think it could be used on stage? I have not so many concert per year (about 3 or 4 per year, private parties, marriage and similar). Can I use this amplifier in those situations? I'm looking for a new amplyfier because mine is to heavy (about 30kg) and for few concert at year i don't need it. Can I connect Orange 35RT to a mixer? Thanks!

there is no lone out on the amp so if you use the hadphone/rec out the interenal speaker is cut off perhaps its best for you to look at the Katana 100 1x12 it would suit you much better expecially for the line out to pa as it does have one so you would be good to go.

this amp and more then capable of gigging live how ever the distoration channel on most all amps always suck thats why they invented effects pedals you know and this amp does really well with effects pedals and pedal boards so problem solved there. and when it comes to british tones the dirty channel is just that kinda thing when you trubn the gain up on it and some pups mnake it sound pretty good but again most pups its crap but then again who are we to overly judge this as it is all about taste and you can change the speaker in anyamp whcih will change its tone after all its not in the wood or the fingers or even in the guitar really some yes but not alot but that speaker is over 90% of your tone on the amp

Whoever told you that the tuner steals power from the amp has no idea what they're talking about. The tuner can't "steal" power from the amplifier. Its impossible. The tuner is in the preamp, and the preamp is completely isolated from the power amp. The amp takes the incoming signal from the preamp, and there's nothing in that connection that could steel power from the amp.
@KevinMillard68
@KevinMillard68 4 ай бұрын
well it appears you don't know crap congrats on that. it takes power from the same power source as the rest of the amp therefore it takes power from the amp go back and study electronics before you come on here making statements you don't know about.

I have this amp and find the noise level with the gain and volume turned up just past half way is way too excessive to be usable. Even with humbuckers. Also way too loud to be used as a practice amp at home.
@KevinMillard68
@KevinMillard68 Жыл бұрын
we try less gain ,, all distortaion or hi gains built into amps tend to suck either way so you need to dial back the gain to keep it usuable at high levels also its fine as a bedroom amp if you use a pedal board or use learn to dials things in at lower volumes which is possible but alot eaiser to do with a pedal board and whhat iam talking about are board like line 6 or boss me series and the gt1000 gt100 and so on as these give better control over the setup then not having them regular pedals dont have the same sort of abilitys as they are just effects that rely on the amp and its preamp and well like i said the gain stages tend to suck on amps so set you amp to Clean only tone and use a pedal board processor and you should be happy for any setup ..with this or pretty much any amp.. the orange series amps are also more base as well on british tones to which in it self is interesting so perhaps even a different brand of amp might help you out i really cant say but i do like them on clean with a pedal board processor my self as i do any amp that can handel it.. now modeling amps they are another story and not all of them even like pedals or proceesor boards attached and it makes them sound like total barf
@realbluemeanie

I just got this amp, it replaced a fender mustang 3. As far as the noise goes, it is slightly more noticeable than what I'm used to with the modelling amp I owned, but those things all have noise gates in them. In my opinion, the orange is an honest and decent sounding amp with no frills. Clean and dirty tones are both very usable, and it has that orange voice that is so distinctive of the brand. Have you tried putting a noise gate into the chain? Reckon that would cancel a lot of the amp noise that comes through at high gain.

Been debating picking up this amp, as I'm looking for something not huge , affordable, but with just enough size and volume to hang with a drummer....and I'd like to have the effects loop so I could use some things before the pre-amp, and some things between that and the power stage.... most amps with a send/return are fairly large, od prefer a single 10 or 12" speaker , and i like the analog simplicity. Do you think this on the clean channel has enougn grunt to be a good pedal platform...?
@KevinMillard68
@KevinMillard68 Жыл бұрын
i cant see why not it takes well to pedals i never use loop jacks i just use the main input i find it less hassel my self , 35 watts is alot of power and should have no problem with an acoustic drummer i use to play in band when i was a kid with a 7 watt peavey amp and it worked fine back then once thing about orange amps is once you start crnaking up the choice it has a natural break up to it like tube amps do so you have to like how it works with your gear to.. my advice if you can test its out if you cant then i would sudjest the 100 watt katana mKII seriese amp for 1 it has a tube like clean clean sound that does not break up that easy at higher levels you have the ooption of all the booss efffects built in or run your loop area or direct for pedals and you can taylor the output from 0.5 amp all the way upto 100 watts nd it will keep up to anyting

What I don't like is how, for some reason, if anyone does an honest crital review of this amplifier that person's authenticity gets called into question by people in the comments section. This is a piece of plastic, metal, and rubber. It's made by human hands, and therefore it must have faults. I'm wondering what's happening in the world where an inanimate object has some kind of fan club? 🤣

auctually tuners dont use 24volt where is your information comming from on that also everyone knows the more toys in an amp the more its affects performace of said amp you only need a basic understanding of electronics to understand that , do you know why some cars need higher amp batteriers then others do even in the same size of a car for example its simple if one has more toys then the other that means more amps are required to run the system which is means lesser performace. a car with an auto tranny uses more energy not only in the battery but also. in Gas where as a standard in the exact same car uses less of both just the trannys alot change the entire car even having hte same goodies other wise.. do the math its pretty dam simple.
