the rice noodle rolls is a must at Seafood Cove! Shrimp is also my fave (but was surprised by the pork here)! 🤤

Pho 79 is legit!! I eat there once a week. They also opened a second location on Edinger at Beach Blvd (better parking, same recipes/owner). I also eat at Brodard's at least once a week. While they're known for their nem rolls, their bun cha gio thit nuong is the BEST in the OC! Also, their seafood hotpot is amazing.

I’ve been to Little Saigon about 3X. Tried Pho 79 & Brodard. Wasn’t impressed with Brodard in spite of the great reviews. As for your dim sum experience, why would you serve not fresh dim sum to customers. Customers want freshly cooked food and not reheated. So, did you finish your drink at Cococane?

Brodard definitely felt overhyped. I liked the spring rolls which is what they are most popular for. Some other decent dishes, but the bun bo hue was not for me. Seafood Cove dim sum uses the traditional cart service so though it's nostalgia and you get food really fast, the trade-off is it's not fresh anymore. Steamed dim sum still fare well for cart service, but fried dim sum should really not be in the cart anymore. It becomes stale pretty fast which is a waste. We did finish the Cococane drins because we don't want to waste food/drinks. We'll finish it regardless lol. It takes time to get used to the taste but once you get used to it, it does taste refreshing and healthy.

Brodard used to be sooo good. Now it's just mediocre. Their rolls used to come with nice hot sauce, now the sauce is just barely luke warm and a little disappointing. I used to frequent it at least once a month and ordered the rolls and bun bo hue or bun cha hanoi. Now I go there rarely and agree that it's overhype for the quality of food they serve now.
