This is a paid video, but Orange didn't give me a script or even talking points. They literally just handed me the pedal and said make a video. All the opinions expressed here are my own honest thoughts.

Rockland32 Thats exactly what it is for, more specifically, it's a toe-block and not a handle (although one can use it as a handle).

As for the toe-block not being on the getaway driver pedal. I do not have this pedal yet, however, I have seen pictures with the bar on it. Maybe they are first promo pictures and orange took it off for the production version. The getaway driver could get away without the toe-block as there are no adjustment knobs near center pedal, all are at top.

Thanks for the "paid review" disclaimer, but I know you won't "color" your review ;-) Great riffage and made me want to go out and check out that fuzz. It actually sounded way better in the mix than on its own. Cool review as usual and congrats on the 10K milestone!

Excellent job on this demo Hunter !! As someone whom is a lover of fuzz it definately sounds sweet. I dont use my El Ray Effects lucha fuzz as much as I should that I won from them back in 2013 ... I think I might thought today after seeing/hearing this !! :D

you should try micing your amp with a vocal setup. i put my singing rig mic up to my speaker with the singing help pedals up to my speaker and its so musical

In the US, if they are paid to review it they have to say they were paid. If there was one review then they might conveniently "forget" to mention it, but since everyone is reviewing it and nobody is saying they were paid then it's safe to assume they were not.

Tone Fingerz if I know you as well as I think I do, you definitely prefer overdriven amp distortion.

James Hooker You are still trying decide between these two? Let me see if I can help. Before I bought mine the guitar center by my house had both on display. They let me take both of them into a room and play them through the same Marshall 4 x 12 to get a good A/B comparison. I went back and forth for almost an hour. Honestly they sound so similar you can't go wrong with either. I would play the Peavey and think I liked that one better then I would go to the EVH and think I liked that one better. The differences are so slight but I would say the Peavey is a little more raw sounding. Maybe a touch and I mean a touch more aggressive. The EVH is a little smoother. Almost like the gain saturates a little deeper into the tone. The EVH almost has a recorded or record like sound. It's a little more refined. Also the EVH sounds so good and tight that you really don't need an OD pedal. I use one because it gives the amp a little more attack but it really doesn't make the tone sound any better. One thing I didn't like about the Peavey was the 120 watts. It's just way too much for my needs. I could only turn the volume up to 0.25 to 0.5 or it would start to get too loud and hurt my ears. So honestly you cannot go wrong with either. They are both awesome and sound great. I would just look at features and decide which one has the features you want. They sound so similar that tone wise there isn't a clear winner. You can drive yourself insane going back and forth trying to pick one strictly from tone. If you have any other questions let me know and I will try and help you out.

Pitdog360 Awesome!! Thanks for the detailed reply. It helps a lot. The only thing I should say is that what ever amp I get I'll be using it through a load box and recording silently so noise levels won't be a problem. The impression I get on KZbin is that the EVH sounds a little more scooped and the Peavey seems to have a more raw midrange. I guess I'm after the ultimate tight metal tone. Just wondered if the 120w and the resonance dial might have given the peavey an edge. Sounds like either will work pretty well though. Wish I could try them myself☹️

James Hooker I would agree that the Peavey has just a tiny bit more raw midrange but I'm not sure about the EVH being more scooped. Like I said they are honestly so close that with some tweaking of the knobs they can pretty much sound the same. But between the EVH's red and Blue channel you can cover a lot more ground than you can on the Peavey. The red channel has more bass and is a little more scooped sounding. The blue channel has a lot of midrange and less gain, but with an OD pedal you can match the gain of the red but have that midrange grind. The blue channel with an OD sounds extremely clear at higher volumes. When it comes to pure tightness I think the EVH has a slight edge over the Peavey. It sounds like I'm totally trying to sell you on the EVH but honestly I wouldn't feel bad about owning either of them. To give you an idea, over the last two years I have owned the 20w 6505 mini head and the 60w 6505+ combo that I ran through an Orange 2x12 extension cab. The 6505 has always been my dream amp so I really wanted the full sized head. But after playing the EVH and the 6505 side by side I thought the EVH was the better deal. They almost sound identical and the EVH has a lot more features and is more diverse. After I had my EVH for a few weeks I had a chance to play the 120w 6505+ through a 4x12 Mesa. I was a little hesitant because I thought it might make me regret buying the EVH. But after playing it, it made me more confident in my choice with the EVH. I always had to use an OD and an EQ with my Peavey's to get the tight tone I wanted but with the EVH it isn't necessary. I still use those pedals with the EVH but it's mainly to give me more sound options not because I feel like it's completely necessary. So that's my take but I would just say to go off of the features you want because either way you are going to get a wicked high gain metal amp.
