Dave Simpson I've come to this thread late but just been through a very painful knee replacement, dumped by text by my girlfriend when I was in a taxi on the way home from hospital. What's kept me going is all the fantastic stuff on KZbin for guitarists and I treated myself to a new Les Paul studio. When life lets me down my guitar never does. Love the videos mate

Hey Dave, I kept forgetting to leave a message for you in your last video about panic attacks. As I am sure many have expressed already, you are not alone. I, too, was once afflicted with a *SEVERE* case of anxiety at one time in my life. Mine was particularly extreme. For the first 8 months I had it, I couldn't even leave the house. Wasn't even able to go outside my front door. No word of a lie: I struggled literally *every single waking moment of my life* with it for nearly 7 years straight. My anxiety was also riddled with *awful* daily, non-stop physical symptoms that made things even worse. I also battled severe depression and suicidal thoughts throughout that time too. Without a doubt, it was the absolute worst time of my life. Just know that it can be conquered and that you are never alone. That is the worst part of having anxiety: it is like a silent affliction. So many have it, yet no one ever talks about it due our to society's stigmas about it. Unfortunately, many people are never seen or heard in their struggle. I applaud you for what you did in that video. It takes a lot of strength and courage to be able to open yourself up like that to the world in fear of scrutiny. But you'll never find any from me. I know and understand what you are going through, for I have lived it. Ohhhhh, how I have lived it! I see you, brother. Just know you have yet another friend on your side. Cheers from across the pond. ;)

I became an Orange guy big time..I'm a bassist who gigs pretty hard and I picked up the Orange bass terror a few years ago...the tone, build and just plain overall quality really won me over (I use it for everything...all genres). I grabbed the Micro terror for home recording and so on...it's great...took me a while to get used to it but all the sweet tones are there...I had to really lean on my volume tone knobs (2001 Gibson Les Paul Standard, previously owned by good friend Victor Griffin of Pentagram) for sure...I used to be a guy who did it all with pedals, but this amp really teaches (and forces) you to get the most out of your native sounds and tone/vol knobs. I love this little monster! I barely use any pedals now for either...nice chops...and I suffer from PTSD and anxiety issues too...it's a constant fight but it's winnable...wishing you all the best from Canada. Cheers.

Dude, I like your videos. You are a great guitarist, and you've got good ears. My only complaint would be the close micless videos, but just would be... As I seeing and listening the videos, just got that. That would be unfair to the other amps to compare them that way. The sound is not the best now but to compare the different amps it's completely ok this way. I'll buy this amp to a second studio stuff. Cheers!

Man you always get such killer tones. Ive been using a vox ac15 which I love but I'm really thinking about that cr120 it's loud enough for unmiced jamming with a heavy drummer? your playing as always is awesome, as are the sounds you're pulling out of that thing :) what are your thoughts on cr35rt vs micro terror, for "bedroom volumes" and/or headphone usage, while also retaining the ability to play at band practice etc? i would just get a cr60, except it lacks the headphone output which may be useful sometimes.
@thedavesimpson7 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much indeed. I would go for the 35rt. ITs a great amp and can go loud. The cr60 would be better though but like you say it has not headphones socket. :)

I envy your owning that earlier version of the MG solid state amp head. I have a recent one, but I've been reading that it lacks the classic rock mojo somewhat in comparison. It is sort of bland, but not bad. But I'm aware yours is better. I also really like your 4x12 with Greenbacks!

I currently have a 100w amp but may be moving to an appartment sometime next year so may need something that I can play, a little less noisily, would this be a good choice played through maybe a single 12 inch cab. Any ideas?
@thedavesimpson7 жыл бұрын
It kind of depends what your after. If you run pedals through it then i would go for it but if your just going straight in I'd go for a combo amp with 2 channels. Orange 35rt would be one I'd recommend. :)
