Passing thru on 19 Jan my husband and i watched an intoxicated woman curse at an elderly man who used a curse word.back towards her. The crowd who acted like all friends physically attacked the fellow who looked like the only sober person in the place. The person who led the charge identified himself as security. Others later told us he was just a customer. 9this was our 1st impression of fernandina Beach. We won't be returning.

Lived there in the 80s. There was a low level racism typical of the South. Not sure how it is today, but I imagine most of the people who were like that are dead, retired, or quiet as there was lots of tourism investment into the area. Like any area of the South, don’t stray off the beaten path without local insight.

Why did you leave out the historic Florida House Inn? We stayed there a couple of times when we visited Fernandina Beach and it was lovely!!!
