making an acoustic that plays great is a combo of quality and craftsmanship, if you want a great guitar save up for one. If you have small money then get a yamaha, yari, Eastman, or Larrivee, if you got big money O recommend Boucher because they play and sound INCREDIBLE, better than a Martin factory guitar, and are about the same price but are boutique. Getting anything less than 1500$(unless used) just isn't worth it. Also pay a luthier to get a great setup. You can't make a cheap guitar play like an electric if its poorly made, also putting light 10's on an acoustic wont even get the top moving.

That's not true. There are plenty of new good quality guitars under $1500. Yamaha, Takamine, and D'Angelico to name a few

@@woopwoop6898i mean i did that once because the store didn’t have any acoustic strings and it just kind sounded like shit, also the action was messed up by them and made it weird to play, i’d just stick with acoustic strings, they sound a lot better and are more built for an acoustic

For real, if a nylon strings guitar has the bridge getting loose, you can glue the bridge a bit further from the neck, and get some extremely light gauge electrical strings. For intonation you need to shift the bridge, how much, you should check when the bridge is at the original spot. That is a thing, in electric guitars, you can simply adjust the bridge for intonation, these nylon or accoustic guitars only allow some fiddling on the "comb" and shifting a bridge is fiddly, you got to do it right the first time. And, these nylon string guitars do not like to be destroyed, ultra light gauge is all you can do. Accoustic guitars are designed for higher string tension. Still, if you are careful, even a nylon string guitar can have this mod, and if you got both the nylon guitar and the light light steel string guitar, you can take the other guitar and sound different, but still similar.

Replaying to myself, Show some real care in the stringing process, as a beginner who hasn’t felt a lot of guitars the strings are a priority to me. Also I have a hand-me-down at the moment but maybe hearing how the instrument resonates would be a great sell

​@upsithurism1 my first guitar was a fender dreadnought, don't remember the model or anything. I upgraded to an Ibanez AEWC400 and I have loved it since, it's black sunburst with a cutaway and a chamfered edge foe your strumming arm to rest more comfortably. It was around 750$ when I got it several yesrs ago, but now they are around 600$ It also sleeker than the dreadnought, so not as cumbersome, but still has nice volume. I also play it with 10's to make the bending alot easier.

Just because you put light strings on it doesn't mean it plays like an electric. I'm sick and tired of acoustic makers say "it plays like an electric". Put an electric neck on it then!!!
