I've seen those two same ladies in a recent (2010) video on YT. Both have long grey hair and are still in Borneo helping orangutan 24/365. They are amazing dedicated people of a rarest kind.

but they are not experienced in working with baby orangutan. one is throwibg the baby into the tree by himself... these are baby orangutan's they still need to sleep in baskets with foster mother's and they should be taken as a group effort to climb the trees. They're doing it all wrong, if they don't do it properly they might as well not be selfless doing something they don't understand.

They may not know how to care for these boogers exactly the way they would be raised in the wild. But, it is a far cry better than they had it as pets or worse. At least they are compassionate and do their best with what few resources and help they have. This is an older video, maybe they have learned some better techniques by now and are applying them.

This young mother, that had a nursing baby and a 3 year old. This is unusual. A mother most generally doesn't mate until baby is 7,8 years, baby stays with mom. This is one of the problems because there is the long period of time between having babies. It has put a lot of stress on mom with 2 babies.

Great video of the orangutan family. It's so tragic that they are facing extinction. Such gentle animals. Regarding the video comment about fully independent at three or four years old, I've seen many in the wild hanging around their mothers at an older age.

I find it fascinating that orangutans are solitary creatures, and yet orphans at *B.O.S. cling to, support, and…once released to “halfway-islands”, live in companionable groups with one another! * Link to B.O.S.: kzbin.info

We need to protect these guardians of the forest. Here in 2019 over 85%of the Sumatran rainforest is gone. The wood is taken to those white supreme st in Europe for their wooden dungeons and the palm oil plants planted for gasoline and their sweet mouth foods.

Why do you take them to the jungle and put them in cages? Why not have a keeper out there with them. They should be lose and learning to climb up the vines and trees. It’s great to see people that care about them and their livelihood and help them grow up to be healthy and strong. God bless them all.

Очень печально смотреть, когда животных сажают в клетки и перевозят в другое место. Особенно, если перевозят из леса в лес. Если в хороший заповедник, то потерпеть перезд еще можно.

Little brats just throw it as hard as you can up the tree and then use it as target practice
@LifeisEnergy25 жыл бұрын
You don't take a baby by himself to the jungle and just throw him into the tree expect him to climb you take him with multiple babies that will climb and he can learn from them. I really did not like the young lady just throwing the baby to climb on the tree! It is not the way you are doing it. If you can't help them properly maybe this is not a job for!!💔😢
@resnonverba33515 жыл бұрын
I agree. I also don't like how they slap them and keep them in cages when they are that old I could see the resentment in their faces.
@arimasmemphis40615 жыл бұрын
Coming from an expert youtube video watcher in reference to highly educated rehabilitation specialist who've rearranged their lives and entire lifestyle to make a difference in the world, save the orangutan species and educate people like you. Without them and people like them, you wouldn't know the first thing about an orangutan so the fact that you have the nerve to complain about the technique that they used to teach them, is funny. Did it ever even occur to you that the ones that are learning separately from the others are still in quarentine or perhaps just too small to safely play with the others?

@nolan hicks I'm an animal expert. I have rescued and found proper arrangements to take good care of monkeys, lion's, dogs, birds, lizerts you name it. How about you?
@LifeisEnergy25 жыл бұрын
@@arimasmemphis4061 you are so negative and naive if you think everyone that take care of orangutans or animals are experts. Most people get into this business for donation money some are quite genuine. however, taking care of animals it is a learning experience every day because every animal are individuals they have their own personalities and you can't think every orangutang is the same. And I did not come here to be educated I just came here to observe. I am an animal rights activist and I rescue. So take care and learn to see if people are taking good care of animals for the donations are given because they're the voiceless. ✌🌍🌎🌏
