Valerie Sexton as long as the water is warm, they LOVE their baths and have baby pools to play in. It's VERY hot in what's left of the world's oldest 2 equatorial rainforests (in Sumatra and Borneo) rapidly being flattened by logging mining and palm oil industries resulting in the rapid extinction of the pigmy rhinos the pigmy elephants and the leopards and tigers indigenous to ONLY those forests. Not to mention all the plant insect & amphibian life, even reptile life which if explored and studied could provide major advancements in medicine nutrition or even energy or technology.

@RequiemRhythm Hello there, it appears from your comments you are deeply concerned so I will explain how this comes together in a situation that is so unnatural but a result of the continuous destruction of the orangutans habitat. The video here is of a daily occurrence in the care of the baby orangutans and there unfortunately are many in our facility. In nature, a baby will spend approximately 8 years with its mother learning what it needs to survive. They live their lives in the top of the rain forest and rarely come to the ground but under our care of course this is not possible. As such they come into contact with dirt and mud which carry bacteria which can result in the orangutans becoming very sick. The bathing is to ensure this does not happen. The carers are incredibly dedicated people that become integral parts of the orangutan's formative years until their rehabilitation starts to prepare them for eventual release to the wild. It is our deepest wish that this care was not needed and these wonderful and intelligent beings could live their lives in their natural environment.

Then comes the glorious European manager, Mary or Anna, in the spotlight...who then goes back to her villa... The "Teknisi" (technicians) do all the work 24/7 nurturing babies till adult apes.

It is wonderful to see such trust between a rescued and traumatised orangutan and her carer. They are just like us in so many ways. A good idea too not to dunk the animal in a huge pool of water first, but wash her while she is standing up and does not get scared. Such good people, and such a good cause.

This video is quite complex in that the orangutan is in a unnatural situation. I think many of the dislikes are centered around this and we get it for sure. It would be so great if no orangutan needed this care and they could just live in the wild ❤
