Orb shows what people's true colours are in face of dangers or death. When Draka's uncle faced Antoni, he sell out Draka even tho he raised her up. When Badeni faced Nowak, he saved Oczy from further torture even tho it means screwing up his own research. When Oczy faced Nowak, he fought with him with absolutely no hesitation and 100% resolve even it means he could kill him. When Rafael faced Nowak, he chose protecting the research over his life.

This anime breaks, picks you back up, crushing your heart again and then makes you like the show as well. This story is something else and deservees more recognised then its got.

Nice catch on Badeni's development! Many people assume that line about Potocki comes from Oczy, but Oczy said he never expected readers for his diary in the first place.

I think it will take time for Draka to grow on me. Some characters are meh in the beginning but slowly the beauty of their personality unravels. I hope that is what will happen.

For me it's the opposite lol. The minute she was intro'd with her motive of "needing money to 'cure' her fear of death" was enough for me to "Oh that's dope! Count me intrigued!"

yeah same, at first i wasnt really feelin it and tbh honest still not really but im gonna let the show cook bc i wasnt really feelin okzy at the start as well and he ended up being such a good charector, so im exited to see where they go with this

Potocki kind of sold out Rafal, but it was a more understandable or borderline case, but this one...this was absolutely insane, the entire time Draka was reading that book I was panicked, like, girl RUN! But of course she had no way of knowing what was coming...

his was more so to save his life as if he repented he would be spared this was a straight up case of saving your own skin. Potocki was wrong but given the circumstances he was a father who loved his kid and wanted him to live

@@AHBrandonReviews Well, Potocki also wanted to save himself, because he knew he'd be lumped in with Rafal and he was on his 2nd chance already, meaning he'd get executed if he didn't rat Rafal out and Rafal gets caught. Both acted out of self-preservation, but yeah at least Potocki thought Rafal could escape unscathed.

I was incredibly shocked when the uncle said he will give the Bishop a young woman for his freedom, like absolutely no way!!!!! He's the one who raised Draka, I can't believe such betrayal. And I was so excited to meet him because of his appearance in the opening song. I also betrayed myself with my expectations lol. But let's see how things will go out in the next ep!

I´m shocked Potocksi is still in the doc. I wonder if the work will eventually reach him, and that would be a very nice moment seeing what´s escentially Raphal´s will reach him 35 years later. I´m so excited to see where the story goes from now!

I cried on this anime, im not into history and all of that but its because of this anime that i learned that people get persecuted or executed just for doing scientific research on heliocentrism. Even Galileo was persecuted for having this beliefs . It made me cry because women back in those era have no rights at all. Some of them even get branded as a witch and get burned alive.

@@AHBrandonReviews - I thought he was trying to pass his nephew off as a girl. I was sitting there, as Draka came out of the house, thinking "They're gonna see right through this ruse..." but then they were like "What a splendid young lady. She's perfect" and I was like ".......hold up".

Why would the uncle sell a young girl as a sex slave to a bishop anyway? The bishops in this series are sus. I think they mentioned that one in a previous episode was actually married, but only privately. I have a feeling that the uncle moment is going to be something like Judas betraying Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. People will do anything to save themselves in the moment, even if it goes against what they said they would do before. Judas ended up killing himself for betraying Jesus. Will the uncle do the same thing? Once again, this episode gave us a lot of things to think about, mostly with what Draka and her uncle were saying. Badeni is still my favorite though. Even in death, he's still making moves.

Antoni already showed that he doesn't keep his word when he said he would take the wine but still was going to arrest him. I believe thats whats going to happen and Antoni might have wanted a young woman as a way to get rid of more Nomad's, since he called the uncle a scum for being one. Perhaps he wanted a 2 for 1 deal and is just planning on executing both. Its just my guess though. His character so far hasn't been shown to be that kind of type. He might be planning on giving her away to someone else though for money, since it has been shown he wants influence and power, atleast thats what I understood from his whole deal with Nowak.

Well, to be fair the whole Catholic church was an absolute mess during these times. Look up the history of most popes and you'll see depravity of insane proportions, it is legit messed up, but I guess if you give people power and wealth, their true colours will show.

Guess the best dad in the villainess anime had to be balanced by worst uncle here. In hindsight, he foreshadowed it really hard too, in how he outright told he'd abandon his convictions to survive. Meanwhile, Draka is on her way to become Scrooge McDuck...? I do think her motive is pretty nice and relatable - basically "I want power to protect what is important to me, and money is power, therefore I need to get enough money so I no longer am at the mercy of fate", more or less. Also, waiting for Potocki to get his share and get confused where it all came from. This would be such a great way to conclude the series! He might possibly be dead at this point, but I wouldn't be so sure just yet - while average life expectancy on birth in medieval times is said to be 30ish or so, it's skewed by early childhood deaths and then possibly childbirth deaths, wars and plagues. Potocki seemed to be in position to avoid all of these, so him reaching something like 80s would be pretty feasible, I think. Of course, it's at least just as feasible he died by then, but I still don't lose hope until confirmed! ^^

He's one of the only people who know about Rafal and the origins of the Heliocentric research. Hubert, Rafal, Badeni, the astrology guy that found Rafal's research, their names are all gone now, Jolenta still remembers Badeni, but she didn't know about Rafal and we have no idea where she is. So it'd be nice for things to come full circle and Rafal be remembered for his sacrifice in the end.

Interesting! Now we have an MC having a conviction of making money in play. How will she carry on the mission based on passion of seeking true? It seems like a dead end, but who knows?

lol This kid was talking smack about communism all the way back in the 1400s. Based. But finding out it was a girl at the end threw the entire episode off for me, because I had been watching it as her being a boy.
