Haven't owned any LED poi since the OG pod poi. Grabbed these on a whim and wondered if I made a stupid purchase. Thanks for this video!!

Great to hear that it's now easier to push the cartage through the head! My biggest frustration with my V1 orb poi is how hard it is to access the charge port. I still don't think I will be buying V2s anytime soon, since my V1s are fine enough. But when they break, I will be upgrading!

Having had these for almost 4 months now, would you consider this poi set to be a good beginner set for someone completely new to the art and extremely prone to colliding poi? I was originally considering the bubble poi from Ignis but watched your review on them and heavily considered moving toward a more durable pair to practice with before looking into upgrading to a pricier pair. Thank you so much for all these videos and product reviews! You've been an absolutely amazing help pushing me toward the right product for me and good beginner tricks to learn before moving forward!

I think the hardest part for me, other than my continual issues with the leds bugging out on me and shells cracking In the handles. (I've had the led issue withe the bumping, happens a lot more with the wraps) The rope is just slightly longer than the original orb poi which is frustrating because it's a small enough difference.

Yeah I also found the new length to be a bit too much for my liking (which--the first generation Orb Poi were absolutely perfect length for me) and cut my tethers down by an inch soon after receiving them. There's also a lot of people that prefer longer tethers, though, and I've long considered myself an outlier in this regard. Glad to hear I'm not the only one!

I just ordered the "non pro" version and sent me the V1. 😔

These seem like budget V2 Pods. You get handle bundle for about the same as just a set of V2's.

Your mileage may vary, but I don't think it's a great analogy for a few reasons. First, the weight and form factor are much different. Yes, you can buy Pods as contact poi with the Umoja conversions but those are 90 mm heads whereas these are 97 mm. Even in the Umojas, Pods are substantially lighter than these. Next, the programming interface is completely different. Flowtoys went all out on their modes and that has both its positives and its negatives: there are an amazing array and diversity of modes to choose from but they're also difficult to navigate and program. The Orb Poi have a much more streamlined interface that intuitive enough that you can figure out the basics without any instruction. Finally, the Ultraknob handles are a small form factor LED option for handles--there is no corollary to this in the Flowtoys offerings at all. I currently use both, but for very different things. They each have their strengths and weaknesses, but I think it's a bit reductive to say that these are a budget version of the Pods. They've been designed with a different audience in mind and are their own end to end solution for LED Contact Poi.

Is the weight of them basically the same as the first gen? The density of the first gen orbs did not feel too great on my arms after a while. I didn’t realize just how much the weight affected me until I got a lighter pair and fell in love.

The weight is indeed comparable to the first generation Orb Poi!

From an electrical engineering stance, brighter LED's run hotter so it can shorten their lifespan.
