The orba (1) has been a surprisingly awesome piece of gear to work with. Once i found out you can upload your own Orbasynth presets, it opened up a lot for me. Its now a designated ambient device in my setup, this thing can drone.

I got an Orba about 9 months ago, after waiting 2 months for it. I had a lot of trouble trying to get it to work with my Samsung Note, on Android. The firmware update would not download to my phone, using a Mac. After a week of trying, and checking every comment on the Orba forum, I gave up. Without the update, it would not play any sounds, other than the ones built in. Nor would it play through the phone, so that I could use it wirelessly. Unfortunately, after many hours of frustration, I returned it for a full refund. The Orba needs to be connected to an iPad, or other Apple device. Android was poison to this thing.

Hope this helps someone else but the Bluetooth chip has an issue updating sometimes so, I WOULD SUGGEST using a MAC if you have one and if you have already updated the Orba, connect it to the MAC with a cable and hit SHIFT and click on the firmware update button on the orba App. Do it a few times it it fails until you can remove the cable and it connects to the iPad or phone. I have to do this about 7 times with a PC and 2 times with a MAC.

Theyve added a few new sounds but you can create bass, chord, and lead presets using their free Orbasynth software. Once you save the patch, you can load it into the device. The software has vcos, envelopes, filters, reverb/delay, among other parameters. It can be pretty versatile depending on what youre looking to get out of it. Added bonus that the Orbasynth doesnt require a DAW. I think the orba 2 added a sampling feature but the orba 1 works for my needs.

Looking nice but for €100 its to expansive. You have (free) apps of synthesizers what i think works just as good and with the 10 polyfonie of this device it will not get better i think. But overall interesting device for inprovements
