Hi, Excellent video! I noticed at 9:52 mark, when you let go of the linkage, it kind of dropped down slowly. You want the linkage to kind of "swing". You can back off on the preload just a tad. As long as there's no play between the linkage and frame when you try to slide the linkage axle in and out, you're good. The creaking noise is from the balls inside the shielded bearings not sitting on its groove because the ball bearings are being pushed in/out of it via the preload. Not from the linkage rubbing on anything. The dry lube will not fix anything either, it is used as process of elimination. Drop some lube and if the creaking goes away, then work on that area/part. If it doesn't, move to the next part. Please keep us posted. Thanks!

Thanks for the info! Will definitely keep that in mind. Will prob clean those main pivot bearings if creaks persist! 🙏🏻

My rise h30 linkage axle is very tight have to use rubber mallet remove and re-install, and when axle is installed the bearing feels binding and it doesnt move/rotate freely wtf
@allshownogolf2 жыл бұрын
@@badhabit2889 Sorry to hear buddy. When the bearing goes back it should still move freely but with a lot of grinding/crepitus. When the linkage doesn't move freely then you know it's too "tight" in the sense that the preload tool was pushing the linkage in too far. I wonder if Orbea noticed these complaints and started using retaining compound which makes it really hard to take off. Gluck.

No problem bud! Ppl are discussing the creaking on the forums and sounds like the main pivot is the culprit. If this doesn't work will lessen the preload on the linkage! 🤙🏻

Hi, thanks for the great video! Unfortunately my Rise has the same creaking. I got a question regarding the Loctite 638, maybe you can help me out here. Manufacturer says 638 is for permanent bonds which can't be loosened with just torque. Is the connection really that strong? Have you tried removing the linkage again since you applied the Loctite? Kind of wonders me why you should put a permanent glue on something that needs to be maintenanced regularly, nonetheless in Orbea Occam's manual which has the same linkage it says to use Loctite 638 as well ...

It was really tight, I haven't tried to remove it, but at the same time the creaking never came back. Do it at your own risk! 😅 Happy riding bud
@markgeorge6907 Жыл бұрын
spend some time learning how to use your bearing press set. you have drifts that match your bearings that press both your outer and inner ring precisely, which will ensure that you fully insert the bearing into it's socket.

Hi, a little questions about the axle. At my Rise H15 the axle was so tight that I had to extract it with a hammer. Result was that one bearing came out of the frame sticking on the axle. The new bearings I have here also slip on the axle by hand. In your video you are able to shift the axle in and out with your hand. Is this correct?
@allshownogolf Жыл бұрын
Yes the axle can be slipped on by hand, only the bearings will need a press 👍🏻

@@allshownogolf thanks for your answer. Earlyer this week I visited my dealer with my bike. He told me that everything is fine and he would not claim that by orbea. So I took the bike back home with me and thinking about further steps. I´m very frustrated at the moment about the manner my dealer treated me
@allshownogolf Жыл бұрын
@@TheCeratul sorry to hear, the only way I can imagine that happening is the inner diameter of the axle bearing they used was too small? Or maybe they didn't use grease and they seized together?
@TheCeratul Жыл бұрын
@@allshownogolf I think the axle is too big. I tried three different new bearings, and no one did slip on the axle easily. I measured the axle. The diameter is 20,007mm on the one and 20,010mm on the other side. Paired with the bearing, which has a tolerance of 0 / -0,01mm I have too much oversize on the fit. I got in touch with orbea directly, hoping that they will help me out. As a last solution I will put the axle on a lathe and sand it down till it fits properly. What I don’t want is that my dealer reassemble it with force and does further damage on the bike.

How much use/miles did you have on your Rise before this creaking appeared? This seems extreme - no? Is this a warranty item? Another KZbinr got rid by loosening and tightening one of the pivot points. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jYvEaGOjm6aqmLs The missing ball bearing was weird if Orbea got a bad batch of bearings? I had a rear hub go out on my Rise H20 and was told they had a bad batch by my local bike shop, (but who knows). That said your went above and beyond and I hope Orbea fixes whatever issue is causing this creaking for so many - including me! Thank You.
