It looks like it just popped with water expansion during freezing. It would NOT unscrew. But that begs the question why did the threads survive? But I think that is nylon so maybe it would survive being pulled apart. You saved me a lot of problems because I just ordered a set of these. Invest in a tripod! :-)

Yeah, freezing made it pop apart enough to leak but not wreck the threads. I've fixed a few this way. Solenoid goes bad on some too. Not much to do about that. These things are handy, but I'm tired of replacing them. New $16 knockoff on Amazon now, so at least the price is better.
