By far the best show at Glastonbury. Tilda Swinton and Sporty Spice were brilliant too plus the glowing balls thrown into the crowd made for a magical scene. I was exhausted at the end. Thanks for a brilliant show.

I was watching on the iPlayer about an hour after the show had gone out, you know, catching up, not expecting anything more than the usual great Orbital gig - and I actually let out an audible yelp of surprise when I saw Mel bouncing out onto the stage. This is akin to a royal stamp of approval from lorra queen herself.

I actually think this is the best way to celebrate Spice Girls legacy. It’s not new music, not sure that would work. But a reworking from respected DJ’s and producers. Great remix and thanks for bringing Mel onstage.

I went to see Orbital in Bristol and they played this remix of the Spice Girls song at the end - and it killed the vibe completely. I talked to people afterwards and people didn't like it. However, some of the comments in this thread are very positive about the collaboration, which is nice. I went to see Orbital do 'Green' and 'Brown'... and didn't appreciate the weird 'pop' thing stuck on the end - I'm an Orbital fan, and do not like the Spice Girls pop pap stuff.

IMHO it worked really well in Bristol. The phrase "If you want my future, forget my past" reflected nicely off the idea of having just heard Green and Brown (not that we're going to forget either of those albums) and rounded off with a flush of optimism that, for me, fit the vibe of the time (just before the General Election, going into a summer of festivals, etc etc..) I wasn't a big Spice Girls fan in the '90s, but if I was hoping for nostalgia at that gig, it was delivered in spades!!

I hated the spice girls, never got it or understood why they did so well. Completely talentless and just ride the blag wave. But Mel c now that woman can really sing. Easily the fittest and cutest out of them all!

Agree with everything you have said up to 'Mel c is a great singer ',don't hear it myself ,she is probably marginally better than the test of those spicers but that's still far from great ,love Orbital but dont get why they would want this collaboration, as you say though, lots of people on here seemed to like it so that's nice for them

One of orbitals seminal tunes is the BOX and it's something as producers they've always looked outside of ..Only they could have thought of this gesture through ti.img and the need for it at that time at glastonbury and made it work. We have many electronic pioneers in the UK but Orbital that extra bit that sets them apart.
