Within the first hours of orbus, where the world was new and no one knew anything, a high dev descended from the heavens to bestow upon us two useless spells. It is legend that the devs still make their decent to this day to laugh upon us foolish mortals ripping out our hair because we can’t do the ancient spells they have taught us. It is so amazing to know we live in a world with such elusive and mystical beings.

@@PKIllusion1 that’s unfortunate but I’m glad you’re still in the community! I come bearing questions, when I use polymorph on something; does it change its health and damage, do you still get the same rewards as the thing it was originally and do you know the time it lasts?

I’m not sure on the time it lasts but I know you can only have one up at a time and that there’s diminishing returns on the length of time it lasts. It’ll heal an enemy back to full health, but only affects non elite/non boss enemies.

The reason you have trouble with decoy's affliction method is you are not drawing a perfect square. If it is too wide it won't work whereas if its too narrow it will give one of the fireballs (usually fire 1). Im going to make a tutorial on decoy for those who just can't use any of the circle methods (or just want to try a new method). 8 ball is more efficient but if you get fast with B and decoy and cast those for long enough you will have immensely increased spam stamina if you ever go to other shortcuts for both spells That pollymorph is way too narrow to ever be cast with the correct rune. It has to be as wide as the shortcut

I mean, it still works and it’s a fun build (I use it from time to time when I don’t need to do a lot of damage as mage) but the game is not set up for fighting large groups of enemies anymore. Seeing Arcane Ray hit for 31k a tick is pretty cool though haha

For some reason i still carnt do any of them easily I've tried Ur shortcuts but none seem to work I've got the current trouble where I can cast only 1 fireball or something per minute while when I copy it fails 90% of the time I don't get what's going wrong

If you can get video of you trying the spells I can likely help. Without seeing it’s hard to explain exactly what needs to be fixed, but I do have a video somewhere on this channel called Mage FAQ that covers a lot of the mistakes I see beginners make.

@legitimatelemon6580 don’t give up! Mage is incredibly difficult but rewarding to get the hang of. There’s a video of another player trying Affliction 2 for over an hour before he finally gets one cast right! It takes patience and dedication but you end up with a really cool, albeit niche, skill :)

@@PKIllusion1 ik i just keep trying the spells however I see no way of getting anywhere close to being able to cast it enough to deal with normal units let alone the better units idk what to do I get the hang of it for a few mins and then a problem occurs and it completely slows me back down again and I'm right back at the begining:( I may keep trying but idk

If you join the Orbus discord and send recordings there, I (and many others!) can likely help you discover what’s going wrong. There are some very smart players that have got the system down like crazy and can see the tiniest flaws!

Most of them can be put in the book. Frost 3, Fire 3, and Pushback 2 are the only ones that don’t I believe. Frost 2 and Arcane Explosion are finnicky about who gets them in their book.

Does anyone know if these shortcuts still work? Started playing last week and cannot for the life of me cast any of the fireball spells with any level of consistency, even after watching this video (and I’ve never once been able to get the D method to work 😑)

They still work. I prefer using the Pretzel shortcut, but any of them will work if done correctly.

@@PKIllusion1 I'll watch it again. I'm sure there is something I'm missing. Im tracing over the pages in the journey, checking they are flat and not 3D, they are exactly matching the journey pages so I'm not sure. I'll keep practicing. Thanks for the help

@@PKIllusion1 could you do a video explaining equipment. Like for example, I have some equipment that says "Gold foil" and "silver foil" on it and I have no clue what it means. I've searched for guides and googled it and can't find anything. I just want to know what equipment you should keep or scrap and what the extra effects do. It's very overwhelming

Modify the width and size of the loop/triangle. That’s usually where the issues arise.
