For whatever reason, White Gladys decided to lead and train her pod to disable boats. It's not simply play. They are very intelligent and understand what action brings which result. They know they're sinking boats. There's a definite purpose to it. There's an ongoing threat to the pod due to increased boat traffic, increased danger of injury, or increased pod size, or maybe the threat is to their prey item. Gladys is defending her home and/or way of life instead of finding a new territory. Perhaps there isn't one available next door and she's boxed in.

I've had this theory for years, and finally,it has come to fruition. In order to understand what is happening, first, one must understand what an orca is. It is not a whale. It is the largest dolphin on the planet. And what are dolphins? Highly intelligent creatures. My theory is, these animals were once targeted by hunters. And being that Orcas have a very tight knit family structure, killing one would be like killing one of our family members. These creatures also have acute memory. Able to recognize things, people and shapes. I think they are targeting boats as a result of witnessing one of their pack members killed or injured from the occupants in said boat. They have waged war on the vehicles that they remember bring death. Think about this for a moment. Orcas are normally docile around humans. This is targeted attacks on specific boats of a specific size and color. Honestly,I'm glad they are fighting back. It's absolutely sick what humans have done to them and their environment. I just hope no one tries to hurt them for protecting their home. Imagine a man breaks in your home, murders your son in front of you, you shoot them, but when the cops get there and hear what happened, they shoot you. Sounds crazy right? Orcas are starting to tip boats because it's the same pods that have witnessed seals jumping onto boats. They learn and they develop new hunting techniques, including tipping this object over to get the food back in the water. They've become accustomed to this object means food, similar to how the crane meant food for the Indominus rex. Maybe it's playful activity, but I'd shake the vending machine too if it meant free food falls out.
