Awesome video! This is a very functional diving light. I not only use it as a backup light for cave diving, but also as a video light. I am preparing to buy another one for my family.

Yeah it's actually super awesome. Basically two lights in one with the adjustable beam. 6° is too narrow with the 710 and too wide with the 710v. This is a perfect medium.

Looks like a good option as a backup if you already have a good light. I’ll look at picking one up in a few months.

Totally. It's nice to have versatility too. Depending on the conditions and the application, an 8° or 76° beam would be useful.

orca torch is the way to go, i own 4 of them just for backup and buddies use. One of them the bulb went bad tho. i bought after market led to solder it in, the problem is it will not stay on, it will only light when i press the button. not a big problem because i usually only light them up one time to locate my target then stay stealthy.

Oh interesting. I think all lights are subject to defects and wear/tear. I've yet to have any issues but the warranty is pretty solid. Even after a year you can send it back for repair, just out of pocket at that point. I don't think I'll use the DC710 much but the ZD710 is pretty dope and the 710V will be good for days I just plan to film. Good to have some back ups and options! What's your go to daily torch?

@@PNWSamson i think when the iphones all switch to usbc, orcas battery just make 100% sense. how many times when you are on the way to dive realizing oh crap i forgot to charge? there you go, charge it in the car. no chargers required.

Yeah dude! My buddy Brett makes them locally. I'm happy to rep a local company. I really liked my pathos sniper though. No complaints on that gun as well.

@@PNWSamson yep, you and i have some common gears. The sniper is very good for its enclosed track build but after a while i always have a feeling the friction slow down the shaft. of course i know the no recoil sensation is so sweet, however after all these years, the recoil on the meaty big wood gun kindda feel good it reminds me something. The mass of the gun also makes me feel i am so much quiet underwater. you know what i am talking about, i can really hear the aluminum body underwater. if i can hear it, fish can too. so i am back to the root, been diving with wood gun for the whole season.

Yeah man true. The sniper is pretty clunky. The fish we target off British Columbia are embarrassingly easy to shoot. So long as you don't dive at em like a bat out of hell you can get within point blank range most of the time. I've never really noticed a slow down due to friction as I'm usually shooting from a couple feet out. Totally logical though! To be honest, I just like the aesthetics of a wooden gun. Feel right aha.

That might be subjective to opinion. Looks like a cool light though. Is it compatible with a wrist strap? What's the beam?

Impressive battery life. 4*18650 batteries. 3+ hours on full brightness. Pretty nice.

Too many options, can be overkill, especially when those lights aren't cheap. I need to see if orca makes above water lights.

I don't believe they do. But worth checking. They are expensive, and that's another benefit of the ZD710. You almost get two lights for one. You have a video light and a spotlight with the twist of a ring. I'm curious to see if that part holds up over time but I haven't come access any negative reviews so I'm thinking it's build robust.

@@PNWSamson yup salt water definitely effects rubber over time. I think that's why they include 3 rings...for that one area. Went to work this morning, at mill, noon hit, my dad(turns 75 in 5days) says let's go mushroom picking. He found a area with 35 pine mushrooms, in a 12ft square area. If you love mushrooms, I'll bring you some when I get back mid November. God I love walking the forest, looking for these hidden under moss mushrooms.
