Sounds like an outstanding collection. Yes it does become addictive but in a good way.

Thanks for the video! Fun to see what others are doing. I’m in Santa Clarita Valley, Ca. So same environment. Zone 9b. 1 north of LA. Have 35 fruit trees on 6000 foot lot. High density planting. Been nursing my bananas through winter. Blue Java and Raja Puri. They just flowered for first time 17 months planted. Got Carried away and planted a dwarf namwah, dwarf orinico and double mahoi too. My paige tangerine and golden nugget tangerine are a couple of my favorite trees on lot. I did graft a tangelo on my pixie tangerine. Not a fan of pixie but neighbors tangelo was really good. Anyhow. Thanks again.

Sounds like you have quite a banana collection. Thanks for sharing and let me know how long it takes for your Namwah to fruit. Mine's been in the ground for about 5 months.

Nice collection. Do you prune your trees to keep them small. Lychee trees can get pretty big as well as some of your mango varieties.

That is so true. Yes I prune some trees to keep the manageable. My citrus are semi-dwarf so not much effort needed there. Mango are young but I'm training them to have low branching. Stone fruits and pomogranates are the trees I'm doing the most pruning currently. Cutting back about 30% after fruiting season.

Awesome and beautiful. How big is your lot? I have an orchard too. Mine has nothing, but tropical fruit trees. I live in your neck of the woods too.

Thank you. Half acre with a lot of sloped areas. What fruit trees do you have?

@@backyardorcharddreams Excellent, sir. My orchard is similar to yours- slightly sloping. I have just less than 1/2 acre. I only plant my trees in the back side of the property. I have 10 seedling Nam Doc Mai trees (some are flowering this year), wax apples, jaboticaba- sabara, red, and scarlet red hybrid, tropical figs (Roxburgh), June plum, star cherry, starfruit, dragon fruit, 6 longan, avocados, green sapote, 8 sapodillas (butterscotch, Alano, molix, and haysa), ice cream bean, bananas, crunchy Asian guavas, papaya, Barbados cherry, pomegranate, atemoya, etc. And many more planted around the upper part of the backyard. Thank you for sharing, I enjoy watching your videos.

I had one. Wasn't a huge fan of the taste, but it could have been to the tree being young,

My daughter lives in Hesperia. She has cherries, plums, almonds, and pistashios. She is having trouble with ground squirrels and rabbits who have destroyed everything she plants. Any advise of what to plant, and ways to control these pests? They do get down to 20 degrees.

Regarding the cold she can grow most stone fruits like cherries, plums, apples and peaches. Great climate for that. Rabbits are probably easier to deal with than squirrels. She can probably place a barrier around small plants to protect against rabbits grazing, but that shouldn't be an issue for most trees. Squirrels can be a major problem for ripe fruit. I not aware of a good solution for them. Thanks for watching!

where are you getting your fruit trees what websites ? Im wanting to have a food forest on 2 1/2 acre here in the central valley in california .

I'd say mostly local nurseries - about 80%. Best way to get trees ideal for your climate. For hard to find stuff I primarily buy from Plantogram and Everglades Farms. Have had good success with both.
