May 2013 - Vicars's St, Dublin, Ireland. An honour to see them play live after so many years. Tears to my eyes, the music, the memories of teen years. Life, loves won, lost, & much more - all to the sounds of OMD. Decades later here I was older greyer, married with kids, taking a trip down memory lane & loving every minute, every second, every music note. Thanks OMD for reminding me who I was, who I am & how I got there. It once again was a joy to hear the music that was & is part of my life.

For those who don't know, Metroland is also the name given to the suburban area to the Northwest of London. In places it's quite like how the video portrays it Happy to say I'm not one of those who commutes into London every day.

I love the way they've kept their OMD sound and kept the '80s sound/vibe generally, but made it sound brand new and up to date, all at the same time. Stylistically, there is indeed a whiff of Europe Endless. Even if it's not coincidence (is it?) this is still one of OMD's better songs, from one of OMD's better albums. "Promenades and avenues..."

The sure is a whiff of it but it wouldnt be the first band to do this. Listen to New Order's Your Silent Face. Actually in OMDs song the first few notes sound like Bowie's Heroes.

Brilliant track,glad OMD are still around to give us songs like these. I'm not overstruck on the remixes although others seem to sing their praises, they are just mixed to pander to the new generation who are out of touch with who OMD were. Also if you don't have access to the original song,track by track I fail to see how it can be a 're-mix', they are just different songs with the words playing over it. If its a great song,leave it alone, its like painting a moustache on the Mona-Lisa !

This has to be one of their best track's since they made Souvenier back in 1981. Love the music video as it fits in with the video as Metroland was founded by the Metropolitan railway all those years ago.
