Dendrobium aphyllum is a keiki machine.Leafless dendrobium canes are ideal for keikies.Cut the cane and tie it to the trunk of a tree or make a dendrobium canes ladder by tying dendrobium canes on to two plastic ropes placed side by side.Mist once in a while.A weak concentration of NPK also is good.. We can see keikis protruding from these canes over a period of time.We can mount the canes with the keikis or we can plant them in small pots. This is what I do Nina. And all my orchids are under care of Mother Nature. Thanks for sharing.

15:08 I see you sewing that keiki to the mount... Great idea especially since you are using inorganic media. But consider a circular needle when you want to add some keikis in between two established plants. (A curved needle is really a needle curved into a semicircle). I bought 50 from oriental site for the same price as my local store was selling 2 or 3. I'm glad I got the bigger pack because it takes a learning curve to get the knack of getting in and out of a tiny space and I snapped a few. But they make sewing in a small space so worth it. 💕🌞🌵😷

Hi Nina, Great video w/ lots of Info. I have young plants so no Kiki for me. I don't stress my plants and feed the heck out of them. Oh, the way, I located the only source in the US for your sprayer. Please sit down before I tell you how much they want. $200.00 for one plastic sprayer. I spoke to the company of the sprayers I use, their sending their very best to try. Thank you Orchid Master.

🌸🥷🏼 Bob San 😍🙌🏼🤸🏼‍♀️🥰💐 hi!! Say WHAT??? Wait, WHAT??? NO Way! Absolutely NOT! HOW??? That is unreal and makes no sense whatsoever! I can buy 2 of them for you (I forget the price but they are under 10€ each and ship them to you for less... the shipping is going to be more expensive than 2 sprayers) that is INSANE! I wonder if I should report that to the manufacturer in Italy, because... yikes? Makes no sense AT ALL! Thank you so much for letting me know. Can you email me the link where you found them? When I go to EPOCA USA, I come up short and I have not dug deeper to look more closely as to finding them. That is, if you don't mind 🙂 I appreciate you watching this video, thank you so much and thank you for the feedback! Truly appreciated 🫶🏼 have a cozy comfy evening my 🌸🥷🏼BFF San ❤️🌸

@NinjaOrchids Hi Nin, the manufacturer gave me the contact only place in USA to get them. I'll look up the seller, I might have deleted them. I'll email the info.

I got your email! Will get back to you 🫶🏼 thank you so much for digging that out again... I am appalled! 😑 I mean, sellers can do what they want with the merchandise they want to sell, but I wonder if there is a conflict for the manufacturer... this is not a great reflection of the product overseas. Appreciate your time 🌸🥷🏼❤️😘

8:25 I'm thinking the same as you... Keep the keikis on the stem and mount them together, so that they can continue sharing the nutrients from the cane. At 9:21 you can see the roots of one keiki are much greener than the other. I'm thinking that the cane joining the two will continue to act as a conduit between the two and if the second keiki doesn't adapt as quickly, the first one will help support it. You'll have to let us know if I'm right or if the joining cane just withers and dies in the upcoming update video. 💕🌞🌵😷

Hi Suzie Quetie 😍💐 the second time stamp with the roots showing different levels of saturation, that is because the keiki roots on the right are higher up out of the water. As they were soaking for 24 hrs, some of the water has been absorbed and some evaporated, so for that reason there is a difference in the color and absorption / drying out rate. The cane does serve as a nutrient source, yes and each keiki will take up what it needs. I have cut canes from 2 years ago, that are still plump but only on the keikis that could already absorb the water. Those canes are surprisingly still plump BUT the keikis that I pinned to the mount with roots that were not absorbing water, those canes are shrivelled and the keikis are not as well developed year on year as their other counter parts. Super interesting. Logic, but still interesting to see 😅 I am expecting that cane to be plump for at least another year, if not longer. I will make a short showing the difference in keiki size with roots that absorbed water and cane attached v keiki size with roots that repelled water when mounted and cane attached. I hope all that made sense 😆 thank you so much for watching, lovely lady! I appreciate your time and hope your day is treating you well 🫶🏼❤️🌸

@@NinjaOrchids , yes, it made total sense and stresses your point of being sure to take as much time as needed to condition the kekeis' roots to become water absorbing before mounting or the keikis will struggle. Take extra care to protect yourself as we need you! 💕🌞🌵😷

Thank you, Nina! My complex hybrid Phalaenopsis keikis appeared on viable nodes on a flower spike, which remained green after the orchid had bloomed out. The mother plant seems healthy, so I'm leaving the keikis for now (particularly because I'd rather let them develop a nice set of roots AND leaves prior to removing them, but also because I'd rather not have two additional plants to water until absolutely necessary 😂.

HI Denise 😍💐 excellent news that momma is doing great while also growing keikis! And you are so right, as long as the keikis and the mother plant are doing well, less work for when it comes time to water 😅 I like the look of keikis on phals, as long as I can see the keiki doesn't get a hit (my climate). If I could keep the pulchra keiki happy, it can stay... a bit cumbersome when it comes to carrying her in and out during the winter, but then again, what isn't during that time of year 🙄😅 thank you so much for stopping what you are doing to watch this video, I appreciate you 🫶🏼 have a relaxing evening ❤️🌸

😍Meine Mona! Servus schöne Frau 💐 thank YOU so much for watching! I appreciate you taking the time on your Friday, which I hope was beautiful for you 🫶🏼 for the same reasons as orchids that can grow keikis in cultivation... if they get damaged by wildlife, or falling branch, anything that threatens their existence, or as in the case of species in cultivation, they just grow keikis because it is in their DNA. Have a wonderful relaxing evening, lovely lady 🫶🏼❤️🌸

Don Miguel 🥰💐 hola jefe! I could have filled it up with another set of keikis from this year, but I want to see if the leafless keikis left on the cane are going to be an eyesore, grow bigger canes in the future to give me a bloom show extending lower than the shorter canes etc. Push comes to shove, 2025, that mount will be full. And then what?... 🫣😅 I shall cross that bridge when the time comes. So many years pushing for keikis, I don't know what I am going to do once that mount is full. Thank you so much for watching, Michael! Hope your Friday is treating you well and have a great rest of your day 🫶🏼❤️🌸

😍Hi Joe 💐 I have and mentioned it in this video. Before I had my channel I tried it and always fell short... even though the keiki paste was fresh, stored correctly.... maybe it wasn't a good product 🤷🏼‍♀️ expensive stuff! I hope that if you try it, that it is successful for you and / or your orchid does not need it and will pull through! Thank you so much for watching, Joe! Hope your day is already going great for you 🫶🏼❤️🌸
