I said in the video that I will talk about the ebay seller, but I will make a separate video actually, waiting for the saga to be over. You can actually find out the story if you check my community tab and scroll down a bit to the story. Update for those who already know: did not resolve anything yet, think I lost my money :(

Hi Danny Merry Christmas and Happy and Healthy New Year, to you and Mr, family and all in this community. Hopefully you'll get your Neo-F going and to bloom. My one and only purchased two years ago was a midget when purchased and with a little babying didn't wither like my many phals. Have tripled if not more in size and the purple root tips are enchanting, as is my vanda. Enjoy the season and looking forward to your postings after the new year holidays. Have fun with family and friends !!! Spring is coming and looking forward to your thoughts on preparations. ♥️

Ahhh your doves are /hilarious/!! It's so funny having them laugh at you, and you sniding back at them! Also, would love a video on the laelias when you decide to repot them (and with an update on how they do in their new medium compared to this). Have a Happy New Year!

Hi again ☺ By the way I use stones from the seaside. I soak them in the water to get rid of the salt, changing the water couple of times and then sterile them in the oven at 180C. Once cooled they are ready to use 😁

Loved seeing your Neofinitias and Tolumnias. They are both doing well. My Tolumnias which are now 2 year old plants are beginning to grow well. Yes, I would like for you to do that experiment with the laelias. Thanks for your videos.

Your tolumnia are so healthy looking, I may try one or two of mine in that potting method, and you are absolutely right about the info on the media....dry dry dry, which makes watering these a nightmare!

The doves again! 😀 I love them! Recently there hasn't been q and a video. You might consider doing some in 2020. Here's a question : I don't want to flush pots { in bark} with the distilled water that I use for regular watering. My tap water is hard , near 250 ppm. Should I use it for flushing anyway ?

Have a friend that grows his Dendrobiums in pebbles. Cheap peoples from a big box store like Lowe’s or Home Depot. They are all happy and have vigorous root growth. The rest of our orchid society are all in shock and awe.

I think it's called Pot.Shinfong Little Sun 'Youngmin Orange’. I'm not sure Dani but I saw it and been eyeing for it to buy cause my husband loves orange color😅

"I think it's called Pot.Shinfong Little Sun 'Youngmin Orange’. " - while the flowers look similar to the plant of that name that Roger Frampton grows, Dani's plant has longer inflorescences, as well as having more uniform psb growth. Now, all that could be down to the differences in culture; still, it is quite difficult to identify an orchid hybrid as so many similar ones have been made, especially G. aurantiaca hybrids.

Hi Danny, I enjoy your channel very much and have learned a lot from you. I have some cattleyas that grow in a staircase manner. Is there a good way to deal with this and make them grow in the pot?

Danny, I fully support your switch back to organic media. I am thinking of doing the same for similar reasons. :-)

7:40 Having a Cattleya that does this too, I would also blame the spots and poor root growth on the "excessive drying", as the rocks switch from a humidity source to a sink rather quickly during sunny days. New roots on mine will just stop growing ( lose their green tip ) because the top layer of moss got dry and resume some weeks later after humidity has been consistently higher. Roots deeper in the mossy medium don't have this problem, but it definetlymcauses a lack of new roots on new pseudobulbs. Same problem on my den.-phals, I now consider repoting them wity slightly burried canes ( some canes already grew burried since purshase years ago with zero rot.)

I think what you should try is lava alone or lava with your river rocks. I do not put my plants in "decorative pots" as I think they do not help in my environment. I love seeing the roots. And mine produce alot of roots. Personally, I would loose the fancy pots and get used to the wild look. But, after thinking a bit, my climate may be much more humid than yours, so my comments might only be relevant to where I live, in the Pacfic NW of North America.... anyways, thanks Danni, for another intersting video

what are you using to keep the cattleya at the beginning nice neat and upright? mine is going every which way including horizontally - any suggestions to get it growing in a nice bundle like yours? Thanks.

I think what people mean by putting laelias in lava rock is: chunky lava rock so that it is airy an dries the next day in summer, to be flushed very often. The roots are the reason - they are difficult. That's what I've been told by the person on instagram who blooms them nicely at least)) I myself have laelia anceps, not the same situation but it is placed in the biggers orchiata bark + churkcoal+growstones and still roots are getting stained and some of root tips die. I should think the way to remove most of the media and replace it with packing peanuts.

Not to be a debbie-downer here... but I still suspect you will find those rupicolous Cattleya types to always be a challenge. That you are even getting root growth is encouraging.
