Poor Crane, making the "They say 1 in 3 people don't even make it to the ground" joke multiple times and getting left hanging

That middle section of the Bradley mis-negotiating the boulders gives a whole new meaning to the idea that "Crane's driving rocks!"

And +Dslyecxi - 29:52 Yes, that is called the Nagmachon (and many other names for later versions) - except they're based on MBT hulls.
@aussiemilitant44867 жыл бұрын
Nagmachon, Nakpadon and Achzarit are pretty outdated being based on Centurion and T54/55's, surely your talking about the Namer H-APC? Based on Merkava Mk IV hulls i believe.
@headrockbeats7 жыл бұрын
+Aussie Militant - Like I said, there are many names for later versions. But the abbreviation "Nagmachon" literally translates to "Shielded Underbelly APC", which describes why tank hulls were used as APCs in the first place, and "Nagmach" is the abbreviation for "Heavy APC". Also, though they are definitely getting old, there are still far more Centurion-based vehicles in service in the IDF than there are Merkava-based APCs.
@FlinnGaidin7 жыл бұрын
Aussie Militant, indeed, the Namer is based on the Merkava IV chassis.
@aussiemilitant44867 жыл бұрын
Yes its been a while since i read up on the Namer and Merkava's. If i remember the prototype was on a Mk I hull and there were a few earlier Namers built on Mk II hulls that were either to be scrapped or upgraded to a variant of Mk III. Then they decided instead of using Mk II hulls they would use new Mk IV hulls and build from new. Not to sure of the differences between the Mk II and Mk IV hulls, i wonder if it was the cheaper option or if it was the smarter option, like i said its been a while since i participated in conversation about Israeli AFV's.

Near the end of this 3 hour mission and you can see the fatigue-induced delirium setting in. I can only imagine what the last bit of the mission was like. A lot of yawning and complaining from all parties. :D
@sebastianshogunwolf7277 жыл бұрын
either the traverse in the bradley is pretty unresponsive or the gunner is playing with a trackball
@quadg52967 жыл бұрын
its the traverse. you are better off moving your mouse hand slowly, at the speed of the traverse. because if you move your hand fast it does not speed the turret up and you run out of mouse mat and have to move your hand. hence the jerk jerk jerk motion. move your hand slowly and you can rotate 180 without moving your hand back to centre. but moving your hand slowly when craziness like this is going on is almost impossible to do... more haste, less speed. :)

Regarding the first 15 minutes, when I watched this from Chris' perspective (Alpha), this whole sequence felt so much longer. In particular the time it took for Dslyecxi and team to reach Alpha seemed agonisingly slow from the infantry perspective but it was no time at all seen from the other side.

Dslyecxi, at 29:52 you mention "the Israeli APC"....which one do you mean? We have quite a few different types.
@rinalds6377 жыл бұрын
I think he means Namer.
@FlinnGaidin7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, probably. It's the most modern one.
@AAA97347 жыл бұрын
Sure, but the Namer is not a Bradley/lightly armoured IFV without a turret, it's an MBT without turret, turned into a heavy APC. The point of it is giving the mounted infantry the same armour protection that a main battle tank has. By the way, the IFV-6c Panther in Arma 3 is actually based on the real World Namer heavy APC.
@FlinnGaidin7 жыл бұрын
AAA9734, the Namer is based on the Merkava MBT, but isn't simply a Merkava that they removed the turret from, it's a purpose built APC, with heavier armour than the MBT hull.
@AAA97347 жыл бұрын
Ok, I didn't know that, I thought they were older, rebuilt Merkavas with the turret removed. Still, my point was that they're not a lightly armoured IFV with the turret removed, like they were talking about in the video, it's basically a turretless MBT.
