Michelle Gonzalez was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease (PKD) at 12 years old. In 2020, as an adult, she underwent a kidney transplant at Methodist Hospital | Specialty and Transplant in San Antonio, Texas. The donor, her husband Sal, was her perfect match.
