@Eevee Ish Rapunzel and Anya are long lost princesses who don't know they are royalty. Eugene and Dimitri have the same personalities as they both start off cocky and then they change. Love hate relationship between both Anya and Dimitri and Rapunzel and Eugene . Pascal and Pooka are alike as they get nervous whenever they see their owners kissing their spouses . Guy nearly dies and survives. There is a video on KZbin clarifying why Tangled is like Anastasia.

Anastasia is unlike all those Disney princess movies that are too good to be true. A princess doesn't always have to end up with a prince. Everyone can be princess and prince in their lovers' eyes. This is life and destiny. It is what makes Anastasia so special and will always have a place in my heart.

@Libellulaire6 жыл бұрын
Not all Disney princesses end up with princes. For example in Tangled or Frozen the princesses don't marry princes. It's not that uncommon for Disney nowadays. But the true originality of Anastasia and what made the ending so nice is that Anya gives up on her title. In Disney, if one isn't noble/royal then they'll marry in the noble/royal family of their partner and live a wealthy life, but Anya truly chose love, she didn't "get it all". Also Disney movies end on the couple getting married and living in their big castle, both supposedly being proofs of their eternal happiness. It's a true ending -> marriage for love + wealth are the finish line, the goal. While in Anastasia they are simply enjoying being together romantically and are going God knows where. It's not a closed ending, it's the beginning of their romance and new adventures, marriage and wealth aren't what makes one truly happy.

Dimitri was my first ever fictional crush. Before that, I'd only known Disney princes who had no real depth to them, but Dimitri felt like a real person with flaws and character growth. I’d argue Aladdin and John Smith tbh, both I had huge crushes on as a kid. Aladdin feeling so insecure about his poor status to impress Jasmine, and John having to learn a valuable lesson about acceptance and differences, and especially because he doesn’t just automatically become Pocahontas’s boyfriend, he was completely ok with just being a friend, despite he really wanted to be something more. But yes, Flynn is another great dimensional character, as he had absolutely no intention of actually taking Rapunzel to the lights and tried several times scaring her into going home and giving his satchel back. But his heart melts when Rapunzel encourages him to be himself and calls him Eugene, not Flynn.

This movie came out the same year I lost my mother and I lived recklessly for 12 years. Fast forward to 2009 I ended up in the hospital with a brain tumor a month after losing my grandfather to cancer and that was headed down the path to self destruction. Then later that year my life was saved by the cries of a newborn puppy and his mother let me handle him as he was born. He truly is the best to ever happen to me.

But if we make the film, some people will believe it as fact. It will create a conspiracy theories. The Red Russian (who by the way won the civil war), will feel offended. It is anyhow something anyone should be proud off, killing a group of people in cold blood regardless of guilt. There are also some historical figure that is depicted unfavorably. There had been film about Rasputin that had been sued by the party depicted and I guess movie studio don't want to offend people.

Now, I completely understand that the movie gets a lot of hate, but obviously, this is a KIDS MOVIE. And I feel bad about the gruesome murders of Anastasia and her family. But this movie is so magical, and is more about finding your home and your family. It's obviously not historically accurate, for Anastasia was killed along with her family and Anna Anderson wasn't in any way related to Anastasia. But this is my favourite movie for it's story, characters and songs. Also, in the very beginning when Anastasia was separated from her Grandmother, the Grandmother says, "And I never saw her again." Meaning that the creators even stated that this wasn't a true story. Will forever be my favourite childhood movie, and I watch it anytime I feel I need to take a trip back to my childhood.

The Nerdy Generation I'm always surprised when people say they hate this movie because it wasn't historically accurate like fr Pocahontas wasn't historically accurate, Cinderella had a lot of modifications (cause Anastasia and Driziella actually cut they feet to fit in the shoe), Sleeping Beauty actually gets raped by the Prince and wakes up because she was giving birth. I can go on and on but in the end these movies are still amazing and fun to watch even if it's historically inaccurate

it was the what got me into russian history, and whu everything happened ... im glad I saw it ... and the music!!! its sooo good , Disney eat your hear out lol. All jokes aside... everything about this movie is kinda accurate , the many people that came along at the time claiming to be "anastascia ", the gaps Anna Anderson had "suppousedly " and the things she also knew... but also so many things wrongs , they werent killed in that castle ... but of course no talking of the killings is mentioned , of course its a kids movie.

We were strangers, starting out on a journey Never dreaming, what we'd have to go through Now here we are, I'm suddenly standing At the beginning with you No one told me I was going to find you Unexpected, what you did to my heart When I lost hope, you were there to remind me This is the start [Chorus:] And life is a road that I wanna keep going Love is a river, I wanna keep flowing Life is a road, now and forever, wonderful journey I'll be there when the world stops turning I'll be there when the storm is through In the end I wanna be standing At the beginning with you We were strangers, on a crazy adventure Never dreaming, how our dreams would come true Now here we stand, unafraid of the future At the beginning with you [Chorus] Knew there was somebody, somewhere A new love in the dark Now I know my dream will live on I've been waiting so long Nothing's gonna tear us apart [Chorus] In the end I want to be standing At the beginning with you...

I get hit with the strongest wave of nostalgia everytime I watch this masterpiece of a movie or listen to this soundtrack. This was criminally overlooked. This is exactly what Disney Princess movies WANTED to be. I have a copy of the physical CD soundtrack LOL you can say it's a core memory. Everything about this story and its characters is lovely and exquisitely animated. I miss this style so much but these kind of movies never get old. Please go watch it if you haven't already! Colleen Marsh I think it’s because they rotoscoped a lot of scenes/most scenes! especially for dimitri. i adore this film and the character design, but there was always something that made be feel a bit odd with dimitri though i adore him the most, and I think it’s the fact he’s rotoscoped haha~~ (I know this now that I started my degree in animation)

Well, the princess from Russia part is true but the rest of it is fictional. The real Anastasia was executed along with her family during the revolution and the remains thrown down an abandoned mine shaft. Very sad and tragic

I've been singing the chorus of this song every time it pops up into my head every now and then for years, and I always try to remember where I heard it from. Today, I decided to randomly rewatch Anastasia (the last time I watched it was when I was a child), and when the song started playing at the end of credits, I was startled. I thought, 'Ah, that's where l heard it from!' I finally figured it out. 😂😂😂This movie is underrated but truly a masterpiece. I enjoyed it even more now than I did as a kid. The details and animation were top-tier. 💛💛💛

This is my favorite "princess" movie, and also my favorite non-Japanese animated film. I rewatch it every now and then, like every couple of years when I feel like it, to relive the magic and the amazing characterization and storytelling you wouldn't expect for a kids' movie. People criticize it because it doesn't reflect the real life events, but this is a top tier story if everyone could just consider it as plain fiction.

Yes the poor girl - I can't imagine the horror of her last moments as she first witnessed her father being shot in the head at point blank range, a few seconds before she and her mother and sisters were shot.
