Very much liking the practical and technological division of exploring these deposits by age. Considering the metalworking cultural/industrial capabilities makes a more useful guide than simply where are the ores. There is a lot of information to absorb in this video and it will likely more several re-watches to work on my own maps. Well done!

Thank you 😆 I think it's a really important perspective to have, and is certainly impactful! Also really fun things to consider if you're introducing fantasy elements.

Love this series so far? Could you perhaps do a video on language distribution in the future? Not conlanging as a whole, per se, but how language groups might be distributed in a world
@madelinejameswrites4 ай бұрын
I'll do some thinking on that! If you look at my cultural divides video, that would serve as a decent simplification for language groups as well. Obviously it wouldn't factor in migration, Imperialism etc but would be a good starting point to then apply the history of the people to.

(third comment I'm not ignoring the content obviously) I've never let myself express this kind of thing growing up and the content here is the main deal, but I hope it's not unwelcome to say that you look fierce in this video! I love your whole look

Juddging by this being the only comment i made this morning that you didn't reply to, my joke here may have been a bit niche? In Mincecraft after a certain update version, Enchanting tables (which convert an "experience" resource with its own mechanics into buffs on tools, weapons, and armor, uses Lapis Lazuli as an additional fuel source. That's my biggest familiarity with lapis lazuli 🤷♀️ If you already knew this and I talked down to you by accident, I apologize

I'm likely going to try and worldbuild for multiple eras including modern and possibly slightly in the future (I'm not sure if I"ll do the later, but the community for the game type I'm planning --Nation roleplaying games-- seem to possibly have a trend of running exactly 10 years (down to the day) into the future. Do you have any suggestions for following this through to modern and/or future eras?
@madelinejameswrites4 ай бұрын
You should be able to research current mining locations and maps, and use something similar! It's a lot easier to find stuff for modern resources and deposits!
