Rex Zero 1 TC Review

Now that I've tested all four of the Rex Zero 1 models, I have to say that this is currently my favorite. It's perfectly sized for me and performs very well.

Lol i know this is 2 years after BUT I got the delta gen 2, and i just got a zero 1 tc. Of course I have other brands (glock, sig), but I love arex. They are my favorites.

​@@stevenseagal4664 Yea, I'm aiwb. Dara Holsters has a nice appendix holsters, provided you don't run a light. Cleveland kydex has some if you want to run a light but they need a little user work to make comfy, like a holster claw and a wedge. A n R design also makes holsters for it, I've not yet used them. Good luck, try not to be fat cuz the hammer rapes skin.

I've seen a couple brand new Rex Zero 1 at a local pawn shop, and I really like them especially for the price. I'm a sucker for DA/SA hammer-fired pistols. The only thing that got me about this one was that DA pull. It felt like it was more than the listed 13 lb, but I did see that there are competition parts available online. I just wish it came without a threaded barrel. Thanks for the (old) review!

I heard about this gun about a year ago while I was trying to justify dropping $1200 on a p226. After research and videos and looking around the market I dont think I've really seen much criticism of this gun other than "its not a sig". Also considering this is a metal frame, hammer fired da/sa, optics ready pistol with a threaded barrel, the price is outrageously good. You can get a full sized tactical version from cheapgunclub for like $600 + their $10 membership

Get one! I got one, it's awesome! Shoots pretty good, better trigger than a glock, although it's harder to load a magazine in full then rack the slide to load, it definitely likes to be loaded with the slide locked back. The grips dont feel uncomfortable against the skin, but they make rubberized adhesive grips for it, and it will fit in some g19 holsters, but not all of them (like blade techs Klipt iwb, it does fit but its tight and rough). Also, the sights are badass, I like the big white dot front, blackout rear, all metal, solid cocking shelf too. No need to replace em. Long story short, it was worth the money, especially cuz I got mine new under 320 before they rocketed up in price. Now I just need to get a Zero 1 TC to give it a companion instead of it being glared at by my glocks. Lol!

I have the 1T full size. How long before you had to clean the optic after shooting suppressed? Didn't seem to matter if I shot subs or standard, it needed cleaned after a 20rd mag, so I could see the dot again. Running a Gemtech GM9 can on mine. Works pretty good and hearing safe, even with standard loads.

I usually made it a couple hundred rounds before it got to the point that I had to clean it.

So whats the difference between the tactical and the tactical compact? On the Fime group website the dimensions for both guns are exactly the same for overall length and height but the compact has a shorter barrel. Im all about a tactical model being comoact but whats the point of sacrificing capacity and muzzle speed for something with the same imprint underneath my clothes when I conceal carry?

The difference is similar to the Glock 19 and Glock 17. Same width but shorter grip and barrel

Correct me if im wrong, but you can buy a tactical compact slide and just use that with an optic and not buy a threaded barrel correct? I have no intentions on running a supressor but wouldnt mind a red dot on my normal compact

Darius Bond the non-threaded barrel won’t fit the tactical slide. I live in CA and I had to cut the threads off.

@@cl13991399 who did you get to do that? Or did you cut it yourself? I'm sure it would have to be smoothed out after cutting right!? I like the tactical full-sized but really just want it for the red dot ability. And the slides are different so they can't be swapped which is super stupid.

@@TheDkb427 pretty much any gunsmith can do it. Just ask them if they can cut and crown a barrel.

I like your justification with concrete. Unfortunately, when Mec-Gar makes magazines I highly dought that concrete is part of testing and development in manufacturing magazine.

So, 500 plus rounds on Rex Zero , no issues , the trigger a little long, but I don’t compete if I want a better trigger I’ll use a different pistol. I like this pistol and I love my shadow 2. I find myself using the Rex Zero a little more though - not a bad looking pistol for under 800.00 , I believe they are only going to get better ,maybe with a better trigger and Arex will keep it in the 800 plus thinking they hit a sweet spot who knows
