Thanks! I just used my Oregon-18 for the first time to cut up some fallen acacia trees today, and your video helped me understand that I wasn't sharpening enough and how to use the teeth to get leverage. Helpful!

Great review. Thank you I plan to get one of these and... after I clear out the 5 dead trees around my pasture's fencline, it may sit on the shelf for years before I use it again. Electric is the way to go for things like that. I will be using a 30A generator in the back of the UTV to run mine. Should be able to go all day for days on end with it too if needed (After Hurricanes and such).

The CS1500 and also its little brother CS1400 (identical motor, 16"/40cm bar, conventional sawchain and no built-in sharpener) are very capable and very strong corded electric chain saws. I use my CS1400 with both a 16" and 18" bar and conventional sawchains (91VXL from OREGON) for all kinds of wood cutting, including loads of bone-dry 8" oak timber from a recently demolished 17th century farm house. Despite what was shown in this video I ALWAYS use & recommend chainsaw safety trousers / chaps, eye & ear protection and a hard hat. Also proper high-cut safety shoes, not just "leather boots". A chainsaw is a powerful and dangerous tool, and accidents can happen even to the most seasoned person. An electric chainsaw is very loud, so protect your ears. Wood chips can easily find their way into the eyey, so protect them. Any chainsaw can kick back and any sawchain can rip - in both cases a hard hat can save you from severy injury. And professional & rated saw chaps or trousers are simply a must. If you have seen chainsaw accident victims you will understand why. Regards, Gereon

I have half a dozen petrol chainsaws of various sizes. When I got my first one I donated my old electric saw to my dad. He ignores my advice and uses it wearing ordinary clothes, no proper chainsaw gear. I think the electric saws just feel far less dangerous and less powerful in the hand. Of course they are exactly the same (danger wise), but the lack of noise and smoke make them feel tamer. A bit like a Tesla next to a muscle car.

Looks Tito, you’ve inspired me to buy one . I think the self sharpener is what did me in!

The self sharpener is very innovative and i think performs well. Hope you have good luck with yours!

great saw for use on trees and clean wood only.. the convenience of self sharpening is welcoming... if you cut unclean wood like pallets etc and touch a steel nail/screw and the chain is DEAD! Ruined, and cant be sharpened.. You'll need a replacement! Use a conventional chain if cutting wood with nails/screws, they withstand the HIT!

I have a question for you You cut down that tree was tree all dried out or was it still green And did you have to even change out the chainsaw blade or did you use the same one came with the chainsaw

Was about to buy a gas chainsaw in Home Depot but saw this as best corded chainsaw. Cordless is just dumb for a machine that needs so much juice and gasoline doesn't make sense for me as a guy who might break the thing out every two years ( I can keep an electric one in the house and not in my hot and humid garage ). No tree in my yard is very far from a power source and I am no backwoodsman. Cheers Tito.

What gauge of cord you were using? It looks pretty small.
@passion8302174 жыл бұрын
I saw it. It is a 16 gauge extension cord. I believe the saw may not struggle if you use a 12 gauge extension cord from a 20 amp even a 15 amp outlet. Under amperage will also make your saw overheat and shorten its life.

Under amperage? No such thing. The issue with long, light cords is voltage drop.

Don't buy the 18" Green Works ! IT SUX ! ' keeps jumping off the bar! Defected bar and the chain sprocket! Its not deep enough to hold the chain in! So far my 10" Remington limb pole cutter, been the best! I need a 18"
