Oregon CS1500 self sharpening chain saw

I decided an electric chain saw would be convenient rather than attempting to resurrect my 2 stroke Pulan beast for the random limbs and small trees I normally deal with....testing out an Oregon 120vac saw with a self sharpening feature

Mine works pretty well as long I don't try to cut anything.

Is it possible to put an ordinary chain and bar on, without all the fancy self sharpening stuff?

good question...I do not know...I returned it for a refund and bought the ordinary saw and it works great...like a small gas saw

Heads up this saw is junk. I tested it and the main sprocket melted.
