Ohio state had multiple weeks off before their game with TN but they didn't get their sh*t pushed in like Oregon did after their multi week layoff. Blaming "rust" for what happened in that game is ridiculous. Ohio St apparently realized that they had the best player in college football so they decided to lean into it. Also the crowd at the rose bowl was at least 70% OSU fans... Minimum

Tennessee had the same amount of rest/rust. Previously both teams going into a New Years bowl had the same amount of time off.

I think Oregon caught OSU at the worst possible time... The Bucks are peaking at exactly the right time. Remember, OSU had a 3 week break before the Tennessee game as well but still came out firing on all cylinders. In one sense, this year's Ohio State team is similar to the 2014 NC team that peaked at the end of the season (with the exception of this year's debacle against TTUN). I don't think a lot of people expected to see this version of Ohio State after the way they ended the regular season. TBH, the way Ohio State is playing right now I don't think it would have mattered who played the Bucks when - they are just that dialed in. Now... if they can continue that level of play is another story, but they look to be pretty focused on the prize.

The thing to do moving forward from this disaster that was the 2025 Rose Bowl is to look at Oregon's deficiencies - we need to get BIGGER and faster in the secondary and line backer core - with the young guys we have on the roster and coming in it's time to start playing them and stop bringing in decent but not championship caliber transfers (Kobe Savage, for example - safety from Purdue sounds legit, though) even if that means dropping a game in the regular season (we've learned that the regular season is only about getting into the playoff and not to win conference championships) also it's time to find a better Defensive coordinator - Tosh is not the guy to get it done. Time to move on from his regime and make the hard but right decision and find a NC caliber DC - Go Ducks!

Goducks. Of course I'm disappointed but hardly surprised. The treatment by the cfp committee is nothing new. I hear a ton of criticism of the brackets but coach Lanning insisted they were fueled by the adversity and welcomed the challenge. I was more surprised that Georgia lost. 13-0 and a debut in the B1G as Champs is a worthy showing. The NCAA will let Oregon be the Nexus of collegiate track and field but football (and basketball) success is not unlimited. Any other year they wouldn't have been #1 undefeated even because of the pac12 strength of schedule.

I never had no excuses. The first game was a good game and well matched. So when the game is that close whoever makes the least mistakes wins. Oregon made the least mistakes and that was why they won. However, when Ohio state finally wins, then all I hear is that Oregon had too much time off. That is a bunch of bull because alot of teams including Ohio state had some time off as well!

Let's be real...cute uniform changes, Phill Knight's money will not win you a National Championship! Defense win's every time, along with a good productive Offense. You have no tradition for winning it all at the highest level. You get there by being totally honest when you get your ass hammered by the better team. By the way, I live in Oregon and have always noticed that most of the huge Oregon flags and sweatshirts, hats seem to head toward the closet after you get embarrassed. The CFP committee did Oregon Dirty, call me a conspiracy theorist but I believe the Espn voices in the room stacked one side of the bracket to eliminate who they knew were one of the two best teams to try and ensure a SEC team in the championship. Oregon would have probably ramped back up if they got a chance to play someone else first. All that being said they might not have been able to get past The Buckeyes in the end anyway. Great season though. I know all the haters are poking fun, but that’s the way it goes when you have the spotlight in you, as Buckeye fans we know this all to well. Good Luck Next year, you guys will be back and won’t be going anywhere for a long while with the way the program is humming.
