If Oregon was still in the pac 12 and facing all those QB I’d be more worried, but who in the big ten is really going to challenge the secondary? Will Howard?? Lol yea not worried lol

You should be worried about those defenses in the Big because unlike the Pac-12 The Big Ten has physical defenses and is a tougher more physical conference like the SEC.

@ryankubinski8789 Not all offenses are bad, some are pretty ok. Plus the offenses of the Pac-12 are overrated due to the fact they don't face elite defenses that often either especially in their conference plus all the teams are just gonna pound the ball against these teams the way Michigan did against Washington play physically and control the clock because the Pac-12 defenses have shown they aren't disciplined on defense.

@brianmcmeat1306 What lie am I telling there's a reason the Pac-12 is regarded as the worst conference of all time out of the Power Five because they don't know the meaning of defense which is why no one was watching and why it's not around anymore. The only team that competed at the highest level out of that conference was USC until they got hit with sanctions and became what they are now. I am not saying Oregon isn't going to be competitive I think they're just a good team but the Big Ten is no joke. The physicality is the real deal. Those defenses are like the NFL in a lot of ways and guess what SEC is the same way.

Blake is doing big time research on Oregon Secondaries. If our DB’s show their capabilities, they will be the most dangerous team to anyone. That was our weakness last year, If they hold their own. They will win the NATTY. They were one step short against Washington last year. They were not like beaten by them handily. Both those games were very close. Just happened Washington had NFL ready QB and receivers.

Look at the schedule, Oregon has 6 weeks before they play anyone of a caliber to challenge them. That’s plenty of time for the new defensive players to get comfortable in the system.

@Ducks4Life91 You know that 2021 team was the worst in their schools' history because the defense was so bad as well as poor coaching and had inexperience at QB and on the entire defense, and y'all won that game barely and 3 years later they are a different team with a much better coaching staff, more experience, and with the best defense in the country. So don't think it's going to be that 2021 team.

@zophix-5741 Will Howard is a good QB. He is THE reason why Kansas State won games and he has done more with less talent and bad coaching, by the way, is why WH got a better draft grade(3 round) than DG(7th or undrafted). So while you talking watch the film because I did. Ain't no one asking Will to be Superman like he was at Kansas State. With better coaching and talent OSU is asking him to be a Point Guard and make plays when needed, Which he can do.

People are always going to overreact even if Dan does not win the Big Ten in his first year. He’s only been the head coach for 3 years so it’s to say he can’t is ridiculous

Oregon has a top 5 unit for Online, WR, QB, RB and DB. Top ten defensive line. Even the LB room is respectable. 3 years ago ducks beat buckeyes in the shoe. This year it’s in Eugene. Also khyree Jackson fit right into the defense on his first year. And youth football is running lannings style defense. Ducks had the 9th best scoring defense last year and they are only getting better in the offense weak Big10. Ducks will be a top 4 defense next year no question.

Burch was elite against the run and a bit underrated as a pass rusher. Oregon’s defense looked plain bad without him in the CC. I don’t think he is a natural pass rusher but he didn’t get much help. Oregon’s DLine must get consistent pressure this season. Their DBs can’t be asked to cover routes for that damn long.

Jalil Florence is a returning starter at CB. He got injured last year. But was lock down prior to injury. He'll start with Muhammad.

Oregon is going be better then everyone not named Michigan/Ohio St. I need to see Oregon win those games before I can believe the Ducks are ahead of those 2 teams this season. Here is what it comes down to in my opinion: Ohio State will have the best defense in the nation. Oregon will have the best offense in the nation. Ohio State will have a good offense. Oregon will have a very good defense. I don't see how the matchup really favors OSU. I think Will Howard is good, and he has good WRs, but I don't think they're good enough to dice up Oregon's secondary. Washington had a huge matchup advantage over Oregon in that department last year and only won by 3 points, almost entirely because of that single point of failure. Nobody besides Oregon has a downfield threat like 2023 Washington did. When Oregon's offense is on the field, that will be the two best units in the nation going head to head. But when OSU takes the field, Oregon has a clear upper hand in my opinion. Plus Oregon plays at home. I don't see how Ohio State can really be favored here.

Oregon doesn't have the upper hand when either of their units is on the field. I think tOSU's will shut down the Duck's offense. Then Osu has one of the best WR groups in the country and the best RB duo in the country. Ohio State plays in Happy Valley...nothing is louder than that. I think it will be a decent game

Seems like they are really short selling Dillon Gabriel. Gabriel could win the Heisman. Will Howard was a slightly above average QB last year, his fourth year. Why is anyone assuming he’s gonna make a huge jump when going up against much better defenses (granted an uptick in talent around him as well)?
