That was an awesome video overlay/transition to the harpsichord! I like both! The organ version is quite satisfying,, but I'm not quit getting the natural ring of the harpsichord coming through (somewhat to be expected with a digital version) -- probably similar to the effect I experience from digital reverb versus natural acoustic reverb on Hauptwerk organ instrument samples.

It's amazing how the same piece of music can sound so very different depending on which keyboard instrument it is played (a piano and harmonium rendition would have further added to the aural experiment!). The harpsichord has plenty of attack, giving the music a 'masculine' dimension; your softer registration on the beautiful Martinikirk organ sample set gives a 'feminine' grace to Zipoli's charming Sarabande (at least, to my ears and sensibilities!). So, there's a hot topic for further debate - the 'trans' nature of keyboard instruments! I love both versions equally, because in the end, all that matters is the artistry of the performer . . . and you have that in abundance, Rien: bravo!

Aftere listening several times I have to say - I prefer both versions ... I think, in that time they played it on the instrument they had. But ... a Sarabande actually is a dance. Have you ever danced a Sarabande? The harpsichord version invites me more to dance than the organ version, it’s more like a "meditation".

Thanks Kathrin. A Sarabande is even quicker than my version with the cembalo. But the composer wanted the piece to be played Largo. So very broad and slow. I guess he didn’t mean to make a dance piece but merely a reflective meditation.

​@@RienSchalkwijkSome years ago in an ancient music course, beside other things, we danced such dances. (Of course with live music) it isn't really much quicker. It's great to dance these baroque dances yourself.
