Another superb display of quality improvisations in demonstrating this fine organ. At one point I was surprised, yet not really surprised, to hear your obvious (to me at least) tip of the cap to Louis Couperin, such is your ability to sit down and play "off the cuff". Seitze de Vries and yourself have set the standard for period improvisation.

I love Noack's instruments. I got to work with him some 30 years ago and have been deeply impressed with his instruments. This is a wonderful instrument and you play it wonderfully.

Wonderful demonstration, thank you. The more I listened, those milder "lower-pitched" mixtures are very unique; almost more of a color than edge or "bite". Very pleasant to listen to for extended periods.

" In Dir ist Freude" csodálatosan játszott, igazán örömöt varázsolt a szívembe. Köszönöm kedves Bálint, isteni zenei áldását! Krisztus áldja életét, és a csillag vezesse továbbra is zenei zarándokutazását! Üdvözlettel, szeretettel: Magyarországról: M. 🕊🌦💦🙏

You can count on that, and I fully expect to enjoy it. The last time we could hear this instrument on site was Hans Davidson’s recital 15 years ago. So there is great anticipation to hear your recent concert on this channel, thank you for sharing it.

Interesting instrument. Clearly a well built instrument, but I’m not sure what to think about the scaling. It seems like it would be a joy to play. I love the facade and console design. Great improvisations as always, Dr! I really liked the 8, 4, and 2 2/3 solo.
@jameslouderАй бұрын
It's not a Silbermann copy. The conception of the instrument derives from the work of Zacharias Hildebrandt (1688-1757), specifically his surviving masterpiece at Saint Wenzel's Church in Naumberg. Hildebrandt had apprenticed with Silbermann, but they later fell out questions of competition. Hildebrandt's style certainly owes much to Silbermann, but he later went his own way artistically as well as professionally--encouraged by a friend who thought him the best in the business: none other than Sebastian Bach, whose own relationship with Silbermann was famous for its ups and downs.
@bkarosi29 күн бұрын
Yes, the scale is certainly a little different from most organs.

@@bkarosi Thank you for this information and for taking the time to reply. Are the microphones placed on the gallery next to the organist, or in the nave, near the listeners? I also see little figurines on the video at the foot of the pipes in the left and central turrets: are they made of chocolate?

Question. Is the Quinta 3' here really a 2 2/3'? Same question for the Nasat 3' on the Oberwerk. I have seen this notation on other organ demos as well. If it is a 2 2/3', why is it indicated as 3'? Thank you for your input.
@bkarosiАй бұрын
3' is just the old notation.

Interesting because of the Bach-Hildebrandt connection, but the sound did not convince me. The mixtures are oddly lacking in brilliance - at least it seemed so. Also the flutes did nothing for me, except, and only to a certain extent, the 8+2 on manual II and the Rohrflóte 8.
@bkarosi29 күн бұрын
The principal chorus certainly is my favorite too on this instrument and the balance between stops is remarkable. I know low mixtures are not everyone's cup of tea, but they work extremely well here.
@organist198228 күн бұрын
Were Silbermann's mixtures brighter than Hildebrandt's? I know that the Central German organs were typically less bright than the North German organs.
