As a primary school student I purchased a brick to be placed somewhere in the Cathedral. Alas that was my one and only visit to the then partly built structure. What a great way to re-visit, sitting here some 60 years later on the SE Coast of Australia listening to this superb sound. A sincere thank you to all involved, you bring back some great memories.

Great demo. The organ sounds wonderful. I particularly liked seeing the stops listed and highlighted as they were being played. Someone has been busy!

Absolutely superb! I am really looking forward to the recital. Thank you to Richard Moore for his engaging demonstration and for the staff and clergy who supported snd made this possible. But a very special thank you Richard, for your BiS magic. Amazing attention to detail - wonderful camera angles, stunning sound engineering - and that stop display - even being attentive to times that a stop was drawn but not necessarily used. As if it was controlled by MIDI… I am in awe of the work that went in to this! Wow! Thank you and can’t wait for more!!

Wooow! I have heard several organ demos, but this one is best: Great mic’ ing and sound quality. The stop listing is super interesting. And, of course, a really fine set of pipe works. I know he is just jamming with stop variations, but the experience was quite delightful.

Thank you, "Richard and Richard". I have never heard this organ, nor ever seen and heard Richard Moore play. Absolutely superb and inspiring. Meanwhile, how is the new four-manual BiS console coming along? I'd love to see more videos in the various master manufacturing workshops.

You should hear it in the building - it’s stunning! Hopefully I’ve captured the essence of its character in Saturday’s recital 😊

Thank you Richard(s) ! I especially like being able to see the registration "live" on the left and right. However this was done I recommend it as a standard practice whenever possible - especially for demonstrations of this sort. Is this organ available on Hauptwerk?

What a lovely demo: 'Proper' organists are a special bread as in one person they encompass (?) all the individual styles and facilities of each section of an orechestra (think about it). I can manage only one 'voice' at a time - these guys 'do' all manner of voices at the SAME TIME - and with considerable flair (IME- they're not very good at driving a car...). The Lord Giveth and takes away....... In previous years I have seen performances / services at Guildford and thought them rater 'soggy' - now ? do you have a vacancy for an indifferent aged Tenor..... ps: I notice a display of idiosyncratic socks - is this a trend from another 'cathedral organist' /sound recordist that you know???

It's a shame it's such an unappealing building in such an unappealing location. It's future as a Church is very much under threat.

I find it a very appealing building once you're inside, particularly now the new plaster has been added. It's very light and spacious.

@@beautyinsoundExcellent organ demonstration. Thank you Richard for your positive comment on the Cathedral - It`s austere exterior and commanding location draw the visitor in to an awe inspiring experience, the interior is indeed light and spacious, the silence of the building if you are fortunate to be the only person in the Cathedral is amazing - we need our modern Cathedrals (Coventy, Liverpool Metropolitan etc) more than ever! God bless.
